i was wondering if there is a way to get the wing mirrors to automatically close when you turn the ignition off,or do you have to do it manually before you turn the car off ,cheers

    mirrors

yes, you normally use a switch to fold in the mirrors (unless you have an aus-spec which didnt come with folding mirrors)...

I'm sure that the electrical guru's would be able to modify the wiring so that they automatically fold in when the ignition is off. This this sounds cool but I think would get annoying. There have been many a time when I have been sitting in my car and have wanted the mirrors to remain unfolded.

    Cheers

It'd be right beside the joystick for mirror-alignment control

do you have reflectors in the rear bar at the back ????

    Its a rocker switch...

right next to the mirror adjusting switches. If you have a TT, then it is definitely an import and it should be there - I think :D .

Now that I think of it, when I first went shopping for a Zed (in the UK) I noted some of them didn't have the full climate control system with the digital display, and had a heat control thingo and fan switch instead. Maybe there were two levels of fitout in the Zed. Dunno

no its not definately an import if it has a t/t,there are aus specs that have had the conversion ;)

    Yep, that's true.

The absence of reflectors in the rear bar would tell the story then, unless the rear bar was converted too.

IB has something he found, advertised in a mag or maybe at Jaycar or somewhere, so that whenever he turns his ignition off, the mirrors fold in automatically. I've asked him where he got it but he can't recall. He's had this for a while with no problems so far.

Sorry to dob you in Ian.

    Cheers,

Another way to tell if it's Aus-spec is the climate control pod (left pod on the dash, the one with the hazard button). I'm pretty sure all Aus-specs have a manual knob to control temperature, whereas imports have the digital climate control.

Also, Aus-specs have a speedo that goes to 260, not 180 like the imported zeds.
Again, I suppose if someone REALLY wanted to hide the fact it's an Aussie zed they could change all these things....

If I recall rightly the aircon control is dependant on series with the J spec models, might be the same with the Aussie ones too.

I did have a link to a fact sheet once but the puta crashed and I lost it all:eek:

AUS specs with digital climate control...

I believe you will find models over various years changed from manual to digital climate controls. My 1995 AUS spec has full push button digital climate control fitted as stock, whereas a photo from the later 1999 JAP spec brochure shows manual rotary & slider bar controls as stock...
