Before some smart arse says its is the radio, its not. I get a low constant swishing sound through my speakers when my headlights are turned on and when I turn the head lights off it goes away, any ideas? I think I may have a wire touching another wire or a short some where , but not sure where to start looking anyone had this problem before as it drives me mad Thanks MIKEA
Sound through speakers Hey Mike, If you installed the stero yourself, then my advise is check the wiring, you might have accidentally connected the "illumination" cable to something...this will also cause that sound...worth a try... Cheers, Reggie
No The sound started before I had the alternator rebuilt Dont think it is the alternator as my dash lights would fade. Also car starts first go so the alternator has got to be charging the battery regards Mikea
Hi Greg , not yet, the car goes into Amec , in July I have to fix the headlight adjuster bevel gears first maybe this weekend, after that will put the HIDs in The car goes in July to Amec they are putting on larger dumps, front pipes, a Microtech ECU, fuel pressure regulator and gauge, a new multi point earthing kit and I may set my large side intercoolers up in the front like Pete's (Fleet) rather than at the side where they are at the moment. Then on to the dyno looking for 280kwrw. regards Mikea
Many thanks, looks like i may have to trace back the cable If some one may have previously tapped into something when I had some AFM temp and oil pressure gauges put in as they are illuminated at night Regards Mikea
Hope it help Mikea If not, then its back to the drawing board:bash: I mean you could always take out the speakers haha Hopefully it doesn't come to that Cheers, Reggie
hahah do any of you guys know anything about sound systems? sounds like you dont. okay big question did you install it your self? if its a yes then you must go and check your wiring, could be anumber of things, 1 most common one Grounding isnt doing good enough job, what ever u put it to ground(best way to ground ur amps are to put it onto the body of car so find a bolt on the car and bolt it to that, if the bolt has paint or something on it be sure to strip that paint off as you need to have metal touching the ground wire. 2 when you installed it you probably ran both the electrial cable (red) down the side of the car or down the centre and you prolly did the same thing for speaker wire or even better attached the speaker wire to electrical wire( big no no) hmm when installing sound system you run the power down 1 side and the speaker cabeling on the other side of the car so for exaple on my car i have power cabel running down centre of car and have the speaker wire running down passanger side next to door under carpet. see when you have the car on the elcetricity is running thru cable and the speaker is also electrical but a different type so that interfears with the types of power. 3 you could need a capacitator if ur runing alota doof doof, you could get that sounds from not enough power to amps which are sukking tha batery dry everytime the tunes get cranked up and subs kick, or you could get a bigger altinator if you didnt want to spend money on the capacitator. but more than likely its Option 1 or 2 option3 is very hard to achieve unless your got some serious shit in ur car and want to get some good db readings lol. anyways mate try that see if that helps if that dosent help then your headunit could be stuffed, to see if thats the case just change headunits with old one or stick ur one into another car and test it. Reguards Shaun (good luck with that) if you have any more enquireies dont hesitate to send me a private message. happy to answer and questions if i know them. lol k late bye mate good luck once again
