The only thing with any chance of helping you is to get one of those GPS devices installed that sends you an SMS when your alarm goes off. At least if you're close you can run back to check.
Its so upseting to hear things like this and i feel sorry for peoples cars that get cought up in thefts Im very lucky to live i darwin the last time i locked my car was about 3+years ago many times i have even left the bonet open over night only to find bird poo in my engine bay the next day
lucky you...i leave it closed and i get bat crap on mine lol get an alarm under your seat was well as in the bonnet....thats what i did...only cost an extra 50 bucks to get one installed in side the car too...its so loud they will get the crap scared out of them...and i doubt they will hang around for long

Huge THANKYOU to all Especially to those who have offered replacement head units (Tekkie, 3FiftyZ, Roi). At the moment, I'm following up on the unit Graham has... identical to that which was taken, and GJ may also be able to source a complete door rather than just the glass, which will solve the minor dent problems in the existing door (and may even be cheaper than just replacing the glass). The biggest problem/repair is going to be the rewiring of the electrical loom and speaker leads, because so many of the wires were shortened when the unit was ripped out, rather than being unplugged. Considerate as the scum were (no more malicious damage than was required to get into the car), their stereo removal technique was pretty basic. I just wish there was a "Warm and Fuzzy" emoticon available. Thanks again, you guys are champions! PS: Rik, this all happened at The Northern Hospital/Epping Plaza, about 20km from your gf's parents. That doesn't mean they are safe, though!

The stupid part about this is Dougies head unit was only worth about $150 new. They are gunna get $40 at cash converters tops. But they caused about $500 of damage getting it out. Arsewipes jack me off !!!!!!!! String em up I say.

damn doug.. thats horrible, although it may appear to be a hard job, adding length the stereo wires isnt all that hard, with a soldering iron, some of that shrinking rubber and a heat gun, pretty easy.. i really wish you can get 30 mins alone with the loser(s) who did this to your pride and joy..
Living in Stawell is just great Col. We're loving it. I'll be in on a day trip. Whereis says that from the CBD to Stawell is 2 hours 36 mins. Sounds like a 9:30 departure from the Westgate & will arrive around midday, then leave for home at 3 or 4 pm.
