dude are you serious? do you seriously think it costs that much for the mods you quoted.. wowwww... welcome to the forum dude im sure you'll find things 1/4th the price of those quotes.

BTW it's been proven manual ball bearing and spring boost controllers are better than electronic, and you can get them for $30, leaving you $1970 to spend on something else.

Personally I wouldnt trust a $30 manual boost controller to do the right thing when possible engine damage could result and cost thousands of dollars to fix. But everyone to there own

Check out Turbosmart gear its pretty expensive stuff my supersonic bov's cost $690 alone plus fitting time (did myself so saved some cash) if this newbie who posted the thread is not mechanically minded and gets a shop to do the work then yep it will cost around what I posted. CRD is Sydney charged the previous owner of my car $1450 for a unichip fitted, $1100 for a blitz spec s boost controller fitted and $580 for a turbo timer, add another 2k for gearbox rebuild and $1100 for a competiion button clutch and you start to get the idea.
Sure you can by cheaper no name gear and some of it is great stuff dont get me wrong but as soon as your mechanical knowledge is exceeded shops wont touch it or at the minimum charge you a small fortune to rectify it all.
I am not saying shops do the right thing either a shop is Sydney fitted my ARC bovs just prior to the throttle bodies in custom piping but failed to remove the factory recirc valves so every time you changed gears both sets of valves were fighting each other and causing many problems.

Fact people by cheap gear for two reasons It works really well, or they cannot afford to buy the good stuff.

    Thats my 2c

why dont you trust them dude? (spring and bearing is TOTALLY different from a bleed valve, e.g no spiking.)
I know alot of people running the exact same one as mine, infact DR Drift runs them on all his drift tuned cars (wyyked on the forum also runs it to achieve 280rwkw, chad also runs it aswell)

theres nothing unreliable about them.. infact i've never heard of them causing damage.. ever? dunno man it's up to you, but i had a blitz ebc prior to fitting the manual one, and i kid you not.. my boost was hitting 14 psi 300rpm quicker than it was with the EBC.

im not the only one who has experienced that, and the only reason for electronic would be to have the convienance.

Hey whats the spring and bearing type i have never heard of this I assumed you were talking about the bleed type. The little in cabin things with the rotary knob that you turn to alter boost.

the ball n spring type look the same, just function differently..

basicly bleed valves are like garden taps, and the ball/spring ones use a spring to control the amount of boost that gets pushed through.. or something like that.. google can give you a better answer

dude i've got $30 manual boost controller but its a resistance type not a bleed valve, my car spools up early as and holds boost great. my last dyno sheet shows a perfectly flat line of 16psi at 234rwkw all the way to 6500rpm.

I've heard of a few of the skyline guys having trouble with the spring boost controllers getting massive boost spikes and sometimes creeping up. BUT they had a guy making them for them and no one reported having any trouble with these ones. They did a group buy on SAU and were about $35 delivered.

They may have left the stock boost control system in.

I know someone with an R34 skyline and he disconnected the stock system and gets perfect boost with the spring boost controoler.
