just wondering if anybaody has a suggestion as to where a good spot to put a fire extinguisher is. it will have to meet all the general rules (ie within reach of the driver etc etc). i was thinking behind the driver seat in the rear footwell?

im thinkinbg of doing some track work, and CAMS say i need one?

    well, anyhelp would be appreciated.

    Fire Extuinisher

    hey mate,
installed my fire extuingisher in mine in the passenger footwell.
might move it though or take it out altogether as i think its a bit annoying for passengers........... who is often the gf, and i need to keep her happy!!

all i did was drill the mounting brackets into the plywood where the passengers feet go, and then screwed it through the carpet.
works well as it stops the passenger carpet moving around as well.
    cheers.

    Hey Matt,

I notice you have an air freshener in the vent. Bad news is that they are prone to leak and if so will damage (eat through) your dash. Good news is Ambi Purr for example will repair or if necessary replace the damaged components for free no questions asked.

    Cheers,

    Peter

    dangerous??

hey i also got a fire extinguisher in my car.
i read the safety instructions and it should avoid the direct sunlight.
and the temp should not be over 45.
but.. i was guessing... in summer doesn't the temp go up around to 45 in summer inside the car if the car is parked under the direct sunlight?

i thought it would be quite dangerous if there is a chance of blow off.

    what do you think guys?

btw, i have 2 seater and its behind the seats where you can put the bags and all that.

    cheers.

    i have a 2 seater... purchased a map/book/cd type

holder/thingy that fits/straps to the rear of the driver's seat .. one larger compartment of this holds the fire extinguisher quite brilliantly ... :zlove:

    Nissan OEM Fire Extinguisher

I recently asked Luke at the Z Centre in UK and asked could he send one of these OEM units via the post mail to AUS?:

    http://www.zcentre.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=21_43_70&products_id=154

... to which he replied it was >2kg and too heavy for the Royal Post. Now, I didn't enquire about courier package cost or other options.

Does anyone know another source for these OEM items? ... because I heard a few people on this forum like shiny Nissan branded thingys! :D

hmm, the problem with this is that it has to conform to australian standards to be any good for CAMs.
