Howdy, Just noticed I have leaking tension rod bushes so I have decided to replace ALL bushes/rubbers on the car, front and rear DYI. My quesions is for those who have actually done it: How long did it take you? Did you require any special tools? eg. hydrolic presses, pullers etc.. Is it a 1 man job? Is it a prick of a job!?! Cheers, Danny
you cannot do this job unless you have a strong and reliable press. It would also be difficult to attempt to press out the old bushes on your own, even with a good press.
Has anyone fitted the suspension kit that Coz sells :- Energy Suspension 300ZX Hyper-Flex Master Kit Code: 300-ESMK Name: Energy Suspension 300ZX Hyper-Flex Master Kit Price: $200.00(US) Description: The Energy Suspension Hyper-Flex Master Kit replaces all vital suspension components. After a few years, the Zs bushings start to wear and you start to lose that comfortable ride. The Hyper-Flex Master kit is made with polyurethane material, so you don't have to worry about early deterioration. The Kit Includes: - Front and Rear Sway Bar Bushings - Front Control arm Bushings - Front Tension Rod Bushings - Front Steering Rack Bushings - Rear Differential Carrier Bushings - Rear Subframe Bushings Did it improve ride - our car seems noisy at the rear and I was wondering if it was because the hardened bushes transmitted more noise from the diff? Was the kit difficult to fit?
10 or 20 tonne press ok >>> For tension rod bushes - easy as! Locally available control arm bushes from O.E.M. are crap - don't know about others. Refer to Chewy for advice.
Those are the ones I was looking at I'd imagine that it would increase noise a bit, but its a noisy car already so not much would change!!
i have the master kit installed >> was a pain in the ass job the instructions werent very well explained. me and chewy gave it a go to put the rear subframe ones in and didnt have too much luck so i ended up paying a place to install them good thing i had a spare rear sub frame unless you have the time and tools id just get someone to install them for you. on another note they do add a fair bit of noise to the inside of the car if you have any diff noise you will hear it easily.
i only had the place do the rear subframe and 2 of the diff bushes > cost me about $150 i cant remember the exact amount i have done most of all the others.
