Have you guys seen the new(ish) Korean bike?

Can't remember what it's called, but it's a 650 I think, that can be legally ridden by a learner because it has restrictions to it's power. Then, when you get your ticket, the restrictions are removed (I think it's done thru ecu - not sure).

The best bit is it's under $9000 bux new, and the next best bit is, the faring is actually in 2 halves, so when you drop it (as you do when learning to ride) it only cost half as much to fix

I saw one at ''Pie in the sky'' one day, I think they are a 600.....

had a chat with the owner and he was quite impressed with it (especially for the price). He told me that the motor was a collaboration between Hyosung and Suzuki.

There are 2 types of people......>>

....that ride motorbikes, those that have fallen off, and those that are going to.

Unless you like neck snapping acceleration, when you least expect it, bitches in traffic, numb fingers and wrists (from vibration), and very high maintenance costs, dont buy a 2 stroke.

Any bike that has RR in its designation, means Road Racer. The riding position is very cramped, not suitable for very long distances (if you are not used to it, bet you cant ride more than 30K's, without cramping up), and gearing ratios that make it hard to ride in traffic..

Bikes with R in the designation, normally mean Road, ie, are more easy to ride.

Grey 250cc imports, like the Zeal, and Bandit, can be quite cheap to buy, but quite expensive to maintain, and are, in general, like grey import Zeds, had the living daylights flogged out of them, before being exported as one owner cars driven only on sunday (after practice on saturday).

What you buy will depend on your needs, and budget, but if you end up with the right bike, and ride within your capabilities, it is one of lifes greatest experiences.

I have been riding road bikes for 38 years, and still prefer to ride than drive, even when its raining. I curently have 5 bikes (not counting farm bikes and quads), a 1984 GPZ1000RX, a 1995 ZZR1100 (which will do the standing quarter in the mid 10 seconds), a 2002 BMW GS 1150 Adventure and 2 honda XR600R's that I compete on. The only bikes that I regulary fall off, are the XR600's.

    Regards GT
