I have 3 oils with about 1.5 litres in each. One is GTX3, one is Castrol full synthetic R and the other is Valvoline 15W something.
I just want to get rid of them and thought i could mix em in together and use it all up on the next service(its for a V6 Verada).
Is this really bad to do or will it be OK??? I would rather throw it out if any possibility of damage.

    Thnks for any input.

    Yes you can

motor oils are just different fractions (or is it cracks?.... someone fill in my high school chem memory gaps) of crude oil so they can be safely mixed. In terms of weight I believe they will be the average of what you mix (ie if you mix one part 5W-50 with one part 15W-30 you'd get a 10W-40).

    Filter change, w/o oil change

I changed my oil filter without changing my oil. A little oil came out and topped up with Mobil 1 10W30. Original oil inside is Valvoline petroleum oil 10W30. It does seem to go harder now though? Do you think this is OK? mechanic did put some 10W40 Valvoline however and oiled a film of 15W40 Mobil on the filter too.

This is on a 1993 Honda Accord 2.0 with 195k on the clock.

    Oils will mix...

Blipman is right... From University chemistry oils are just fractions (different carbon rings or lengths) therefore oils of the same basic types will mix and they should take on the properties (weight) of the average... (this is a very basic explanation)

However, I'm not too sure how this will fair with fully synthetic - semi-synthetic - normal oils mix...
