and you drive at 50k's everywhere Nathan:LOL:and good old Kalus doin 295 we all get a lead foot from time to time ,but as the others have said its always a good idea to know the car before you go for broke and not with the girl in the car
Had a little play with a XR6 Turbo today on an EMPTY stretch of road, and felt really good as it disappeared in the rear view mirror, until I realised he probably wasn't trying all that hard! D'oh!
Exactly Dont get me wrong, Im not completely in favour of speed limits either. Roads are designed by engineers to handle certain speeds and its the politicians that decide we have to go a lot slower, what the hell do they know. I just think it has to be sensible, with SOME thought to safety and especially not jeapordising the safety of others above all other things. People on the road do not expect another car to come at them at 225km/h and dont deserve to get killed for it.
Harsh... but I have to agree with Zisluv, pretty silly taking a car out for a fang like that without really understanding the car...... only takes a split second and your g/f could be here.... SAD - (R18).... take care dude.
If that was my car you were testing,>> you're arse would still be in need of surgery. You're just the kind of fool we don't need on this forum  (Or in a Zed.)
Yep, thats what I thought.... which is why I responded to his post with my space saver story.... Cheers
well, if its just a bullshit story.... why start a thread about it? so we can start posting our creative writing projects on the zed related forum? ::Risk::
I think the point behind it.....>> Was to highlight the stupidity of some of the high speeds people are doing, and then talking about on here. I'm not prepared to start trying to regulate the forum based on if I think a story has any merit or not. If that was the case then complete tools who test drive Zeds of unknown condition at speeds around twice the national limit, while freaking their girlfriends out would be hard pushed to get a word in. I'll say it again because people seem to keep forgetting. The VTD function is there for the members to regulate the forum as they see fit. The admin/mods usually only step in as a last resort, or if something is clearly in breach of the guidelines. There is noting in the guidelines about fiction.
most people most of missed his point then seems like its turned into a convo about rpm vs speed.... not danagerous driving ::Risk::
All Japanese cars released from factory to the Japanese domestic market are limited to 180km/h. Though it is not policed after this and you can still register cars in Japan with the limiter removed. Australian delivered zeds would be the exception in our cases. J.
although I'd love to have the sort of road long enough to stretch the green beast to 300k's, I haven't found one yet. Although Logan Road is prolly long enough, the speed limit is only 60 and there are far too many lights. I have done over the 180 mark on it on a few occasions, but that's neither here nor there. C'mon, I enjoy this stuff
what? you don't think it's been done before? I don't think it's up to the moderators to decide whether posts/thread are crap or not. I was just having a bit of fun, some ppl got it, some didn't.
Speed limits should be there as a guide..... Well that is my opinion and would never work in reality though. You gotta remember that not everybody is driving around in 300hp cars with really low centres of gravity, upgraded brakes and suspension on softer tyres (and God like driving skills that all we Zed owners inherit from owning one ). The registration rules in Australia (or WA at least) allow for cars with bad brakes, suspension and tyres to be on the road until they are picked up for it. Sometimes 60km is still dangerous in a 60 zone if it is hailing or snowing or whatever but I don't see the problem with running more than the posted limit on a freeway or country road when nobody is around on a clear day with good conditions. Which is where the policing of the laws peeve me and the politics come in (5km/h over brings you a fine). The right speed in the right conditions (car condition and otherwise) is what I believe in, which is where driver training plays a big part. The majority of Australia is lucky in a sense that driving conditions are not extreme (weatherwise) and twisty mountain roads are not a part of every day commuting for the majority of people. Drive safe peeps (which IMO doesn't directly correlate to staying under the speed limit). J.
