Hey there,Had some problems with my radiator this past week. Core was leaking. So I got a radiator from Avi at Jap Imports sent to me but it doesn't look the same as mine.Looking at the car from the front, my old one is as follows: - top main pipe on left hand side - L shape pipe into bottom right of radiator - inlet on right side of top of radiator - 3 pipe inlet along right hand side of radiator, two for fluid and one that's red fluid (guessing power steering fluid)Now the one I got from Avi is as follows: - top main pipe on left hand side - L shape pipe into bottom right of radiator - inlet in middle of top of radiator - no 3 pipe inlets on right hand side - 2 inlet pipes on bottom of radiatorWhat the? Is this the right radiator for me as it's very important that I spend as little time fixing this as I need the car ASAPAny help muchly appreciated
Your old radiator.....>> Would have had a tank on either side and the two little connections leaking red stuff in the right hand tank are for the transmission cooler (TT auto). It sounds like your new radiator has a top and bottom tank from your description, which would make it (this is a guess because I can't see it) an NA radiator.
This si what I have just seen... There were only 2 connections on the right hand side so this matches the number on the bottom of the new one.There's a radiator hose on the bottom and what would be the connector to the transmission cooler. The other thing that it lloks like is a little longer (left to right) than the one in there at the moment
Sorry......>> You have been given an NA radiator and it will not fit in your TT. Take it back and get the right one.
May be way off but i'm practically -> certain that you have an NA radiator due to the inlet in the middle. Every TT i've seen has inlet on the side. and NA's have inlet in the middle.I'd be asking for a refund or swap pronto.Cheers and good luck
Thanks for the help everyone As I first suspected it is a NA radiator with tanks at top and bottom and obviously longer and thinner than the one I have after a quick phone call with ChiliWhat's good is that I have rung Avi and he is sending one pronto to me overnight... Right/Left tanks with cap on sideGuess you learn something everyday and cannot always be certain of what is being sent in the mail. What is good though is that he is rectifying the problem immediately and working on it as we speak.
