I have decided to go for the NSX

not an easy decision, but the determining factor in the end (apart from looks) is I love NA cars, fast NA's especially, also the skyline is set to become all too common with this damn 15 year rule, something I fear might happen to Z's.Thanks for the site Gazza, but I think $245,000 is a little out of the question, for that money I'd look into a ferrari, plus it would make my 9 sec Z dreams out of the question, as it would take all my funds.LTD and Franz you were partially right about early NSX's not having Vtec, but that information is a bit out of date, As I have discovered the NSX was released as a prototype in 89 which diddent have Vtec, rumours surrounding an upgrade from the competing ferrari of its day made Honda include Vtec to the final production of the car to add 20 HP to compete with ferrari, so it wasn't in the prototype, but was always in the final car 8D The budget will be between $65-75,000 and I will purchase it early next year (feburary-march) apart from being a DD, I will actually take this one to the circuit, as I dont have to fear cooking a turbo quite as much :p 8D

OK, I accept that there was a '92 Type R >>>

None of the links I checked mentioned a Type R, then I found this one, so thought that it was the first one. NSX Type R.Japanese translations can be a good laugh - I like the idea that you can have "fighting power improved sharply" - perhaps that was a Mike Tyson edition? Also had a chuckle over the "large minor change" not to mention "eye Ruton Sena"

On the contrary

The NSX is very well suited for a daily driver (unless you need more than 2 seats or any decent luggage space.) Honda has engineered out most of the driving characteristics that makes a super car such a challenge to drive making the NSX very forgiving and user friendly.
Personally I love the NSX and have seriously considered replacing the Zed with one.
I still have a Jap Cars video where they compared a number of cars including the NSX and the R34 GTR.
The GTR just piped the NSX in the 0-400m but on the track the GTR was left for dead.
For me there is no question of what to get.

I just thought you might find it usefull...

...Ive seen the occasional NSX in there when Ive been there. If you give them a ring they may be able to source cheaper ones for you. At the very least, if they have one on the showroom floor, you could go and have a look to see if it is what you expected(you might even scam a test drive!)
As you can tell, Id go with the NSX. Skylines are nice, and they are very fast but I prefer a car that gets the looks from everyone, not just from people that know what they are looking at (like the mighty zed:D )

Actually

from what I heard the V8 Ford they stuck in it was nortoriously unrealible which is why the car never did any good. But I do like the shape of the last edition they released. It looked like a Lamborghini Countach...... Hey it is a Lamborghini Countach rip off. Dam cheap knock offs.

I give you two trout slaps

I wouldn't take either of them unless the R32 has a racing widebody. :YD The NSX. Well lets say they stuck the engine in incorrectly for my tastes. :N(

NSX by far>>>

was lucky enough to drive my cousin one a few years back and its an amazing car, not to mention there are only a few around. My cousin one was short lived crooks stole the car and took it for a joy ride and than set it on fire 110000 dollar car up in smoke wasnt a pretty site. he had the car less than 2 months.

I sooooo have to disagree....

The GTR is fast sure, but the NSX is a driving experience unlike anything else. It is so amazing that I even have trouble calling it a Honda. If money isnt an issue, sure go an NSX. Ive driven a 34GTR, Driven an NSX (only an auto) and also been in a Ferrari 355 and I can say that the NSX felt simular to the ferrari (although a little tamer).

Keep in mind that NSXs still sell in excess

of 2.5 million yen and on average around 3.5 million. Also if you do buy one, DEFINITELY avoid any accident damaged cars. The NSX had a aluminium space frame type of chassis, meaning that even a small knock can really upset the cars balance.

Blipman Beer hooves totally work

... and what use are Japanese sale prices

if you can't import them? ;) Those bastards at Honda..... sold practically NO NSX's yet have them as full volume imports for the entire production range just to screw us over :(Ben

Yeah Its a shame they can't be imported

I found out this information first, dosen't really matter Ive set aside a $70,000 budget, I will go slightly higher for the right one, ive already found some sites with great information on reducing their weight, and its possible to bring them down into the 2800 pound range without touching aircon or the sound system, I can bore the engine to the newer spec 3.2 ltr, and also the body as well if I want (easy enough) the 5 spd manual can be swapped out for the 6 spd, with only a clutch change necessary, everything else bolts up.Then I can go the turbo charged route as well if I so choose, turbos + vtec sounds good to me 8D

yeah he wishs>>

he paid 110000 for it from rick damieian plus he has to pay transfer rta transfer which is like 3000 than insurance and than excess so in the end he lost 10000, so yeah it was a great insurance deal.

Your New DD..............>>

For a Daily Driver You would want something Practical, If that is an issue Then my pick would be the GTR, If its not an issue, then why not Look at a Ferrari GTS 328 A much better Sports car than the NSX ;) I've Owned Both cars and let me tell you the GTS 328 is superior to any Honda in performance and appearance, and it has a better resale value. :YD cheers

Specs on a 328 aren't any better

Sources say 270 BHP from a 3.2 ltr engine (identical to the NSX but the nsx does it with 3.0) with a 0-60 time of 5.9 (nsx is slightly better)It also seems the chassis from a 328 dates back into the 70's, there is no way that the 328 would be a faster car, straight line, and certainly no match for the NSX's all alloy body and suspension, if you want a video of a stock NSX holding off a new lambo murcelago (sp?) ill post the link, I also have one of a stock NSX out dragging a ferrari 355, also I have never been a fan of ferrari's interior styling, I almost bought a testarossa instead of my Z (it was the same decision im in now, testarossa or Z :p ) the outside is to die for, but the inside is styled like a 1980's ford falcon.328 specsThanks for the thought though, resale value isn't a problem either, as I dont sell any of my cars :D

Why ask for opinions Zac:?)>>

You ask for opinions from other members, you openly state: "Ive never seen an NSX in real life.", and yet you want to tell MrZee (who HAS owned an NSX and a 328), that you know more about the driveability and performance comparisons of those cars, than he does.Time for you to get a grip on reality, and quit asking questions that you DON"T want answers for. :N( Lloyd:-Z
