    If not to pricey >>

the paint that you are talking about is approximately, now wait for it! $1,000 per litre.
With a Zed, I would estimate you'll need around
a litre or (2). Then add on the rest of the bits & piece's, like rubbing it back before you start,
fixing up all those little dents & scratch's, let alone what a good spraypainter will charge for labour.
I hope it works out for you:D .
    Best o luck

also check with your insurer as a lot of...

companies won't cover cars with such paint jobs. Also, I hear that if you damage one panel, you have to get the whole car painted. Apparently if you don't, the repained panel will change colour differently than the rest of the car (might change in reverse or something!). Not 100% about this however. IMHO harlequin (thats what they're called right?) paint jobs look tacky and cheap. Each to their own though.

    Egg ....

    Contrary to popular belief....

...but those chamelion type paints are very easy to match if you have a bingle.
Yeah, I reckon they look crappy too, especially on a curvey Z.

    Yes easy to match alright.

It's just that after a few yeahs you can see the spray lines easily in the panels. Much the same as the old Candy apple colours that were popular in the early 90's.

1 litre of paint should be enough and...

should be enough left over for a future date.Max

    Its is very pricey>>>

the two main companies who sell the colour effects paints they are dupont with there chromalusion range and ppg with harlequin range they are both between 800-1200 a litre, you will need easy 4 litres to cover a car correctly, these paints dont cover well i used dupont chromalusion and i used 6 litres on a 1995 lancer gsr with body kit( sprayed inside and out )full colour change and in some parts of the car you could see a cloudy effect because not enough paint but it turned out pretty good, lucky enough i had dupont sponsor me so it didnt hurt that much in my pocket. There are other companies who make similar paints and sell them for about 300 a litre but they has less effects, you get what you pay for, do your research. It sprays like any other paints and can be easily blended in if you have a smash or scratch.Just make sure you have a pretty good painter.

    ive got similar

i have purple/green/yellow/blue chameleon paint. its super expensive. over 600 dollars per litre can. it can take more than a litre to do the hood properly.
the honda that rear ended me ended up with a 3500 dollar bill for : remove bumper, reshape, fill, sand, repaint, refit bumper.
    wowee!
i love the colour of my car but under no circumstances would i get it on my (planned) TT

    paint

    mate the next best thing
is to modify a colour for example adding a "powder pearl"
i have a custom mix here of (precious silver pearl with lilac pearl added to it) silver with a purple tingejust get the pearl added to the colour
you dont need whiz bang harlequins e.t.c they are just crap and coverage isnt usually good 6 litres is about right but on a zed depends how good you want it
i am underway with stripping mine and redoing the silver again but with more of a purple pearl effect
    timid has a good example
the colour is called "blue shimmer pearl"
i have his grill and that is one nice colour just take a look at what protec have to offer
they sell some decent stuff and not at expensive prices and its top stuff to
as i use it on everything
    good luck with the respray!!
