    Hi guysMy 7 year stint in Mt.Isa has come to an abrupt end so we're moving to Kalgoorlie to look for work in the mining idustry.
    We are going all the way down the east coast to Sydney then Adelaide? & over to Kal. Roughly 9000K's.It should be quite a fun drive & im hoping to catch up with a few people in Bris & anyone that wants to say hello in Sydney would be good too.I need some advise from those who have travelled inland from Sydney, as to which is the best road to get us on our way to Kal. We dont have to stop in Adelaide unless you guys think its worth a look & if there is anyone that wants to say hello down there then we'll pull on in.Thanks guys.........Jamie

    I think I can speak for the regular Sydney

    crew (except for maybe Chili) that we'd get together when you come through for sure. When you planning on being around this area.

    Having crossed this great land of ours

    Having crossed this great land of ours in the last couple of years. If I was to travel from Mt.Isa (been there too) to Kalgolie WA, my first question is are you going to do it in the Zed. If in the Zed and time is your pleasure;
    I would go:
    - down the QLD coast :) visit the Brisbane Zedders
    - down the NSW coast to sydney :) {though inland on New England is better road but not as nice views}
    - down the Vic coast to Melbourne :) then Great Ocean Road to Adelaide :)
    - then finally across the plains to WA.

    though instead of the lower NSW & Vic coast you could visit ACT :) and then do a sweep of NSW {WoggaWogga, Gray, Albury/Wadonga} to just touch Vic border before entering SA.

    :) means meet zedders

    Hi Jaymz >>>

    Having crossed the Nullarbor 9 times in different cars, the last time in mt TT Z32, I can advise the following: If you have the time, take Stevens advice - if you don't there are short cuts.1) If you are not committed to going to Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Adelaide, you can take the Barkly Hwy to Tennant Creek, the Stuart Hwy thru Alice to Port Augusta, then Eyre Hwy to Norseman, up to Coolgardie and right to Kal. This will save a shitload of k's.2) OR, you can can go to Brisbane and bypass Sydney/Melbourne/Adelaide.3) OR, you can go to Brisbane and Sydney and bypass Melbourne/Adelaide. Go from Sydney thru Broken Hill and take Route 56 cutting across thru Peterborough and Wimington to the Eyre Hwy at Port Augusta4) OR, you can go to Sydney, Brisbane and Adelaide, bypassing Melbourne.5) OR, you can go to all capitals and visit us all =) =) =).I havent done the inland NSW/Qld/SA roads except up thru Dubbo to Brisbane several times, but my maps tell me all these major routes and highways are sealed (roadworks excepted).If you are driving the TT, pack some octane booster, (no PULP let alone 98 octane between Ceduna and Norseman, about 1200km; probably not available at a lot of other inland towns as well. Perhaps borrow a spare PTU, and unless you have absolute confidence in your heater core, pack an EA Falcon heater hose (there is one that has a 180° bend) to do a bypass if the worst happens. I speak from experience here.Best of luck, and have a great and safe road trip. When's it happening?

    Could be inside a month

    We not exactly sure. We have to pack & sell up most of our stuff as it will cost a fortune to transport.But definately no longer than 2 months.

    That would be the ultimate but

    unfortunately im taking both my cars. My girlfriend is bringing the dunnydore aswell so both cars will cost me, by my rough calculations, $3000 in fuel so i really need to go the shortest route that is safe enough for my low Zed & 18's.I would still like to come down the east coast to Sydney though as im trying to chase up a cheap replacement auto for my slipping original.If anyone has one of these & would like to swap with a cash difference, then please let me know.

    Cheers Mike

    I did think about the inland road but i was abit worried about taking the Zed through there. Though it is the road they do that canonball run on, i might look into this some more.
    I think my biggest worry is the trans. Like its ok around town & doesnt slip when boosted on stock boost (does on 12psi) but when i last took it to Townsville it was dropping off the convertor all the time in top gear. Ive had it serviced & there was no big chunks of belt material in the filter but im fearing the worst & i could be left without top gear, or worse it could be stuck in 2nd. That would fully suck!So i would really like to get my hands on a box that no 1 wants, & will get my by till i can afford a full rebuild.Thanks for all the advise on the bits & pieces too.

    Already got cruise planned out Risky-boy

    Plus, what RZM has advised as far as suitable routes goes sounds good, altho once you get to Norseman, head north towards Coolgardie/Kalgoorlie, then just after Widgiemootha (about 15k's) turn right towards Kambalda, over the railway line then left at the BP and head north the last 54k's to Kal. Going thru Coolgardie is a bit longer (about 10 k's) but a every little bit less would help me thinks, plus the road is better that way.
