Hi all, wondering what people are running in regards to their fuel system’s when running bigger power 400kw+ After any feedback possible for recommendations! thanks heaps
Assuming 400rwkw is about 640 engine HP and you get there at abou 24psi... you're gonna need 269PH on 98 or 328LPH on E85 according to THIS CALCULATOR. Calculators are often conservative but with fuel systems it's better to have some headroom...
Okay cheers for that. With your experience, would the factory fuel lines on the body be sufficient or should I upgrade also? Would you have a preference in fuel rail and injectors?
I messed the calculations a little when factoring driveline loss - you'd want more like 343lph on E85 at 24psi, but that walbro high flow pump is still more than adequate. Re line sizes generally speaking 5/16"/8mm (factory lines) up to 800hp AN-6 up to 1200hp AN-8 up to 2000hp (at the engine). Your 400rwkw works out to about 670hp at the engine (assuming 20% driveline loss) so yes facory fuel lines are adequate. My preference for fuel rails and injectors are the ones I have for sale. Really.
Thanks rob! I’ll have a look and see what I can spend some money on. that’s definitely a great looking surge setup on the s13 mate! Probably a lot overkill for what I’m after but definitely something to take into consideration for if I go down that route!
The biggest issue you will have is the factory fuel rails dont flow enough, I had to swap mine out for 360 degree rails, 1000cc injectors and a walbro 525 pump, I went form getting lean to over feeling at 18psi. The lines themselves are fine.
