Thought I'd start a thread regarding rare or "hard to find" parts for Z32.
I'm finding it hard to find Shag Pile Mats
(in good condition) and or TT front bumper.
Anyone else in the same position?
What parts are you looking for?

Don't think these are rare, but more that age is starting to take its toll. In my experience,

2+2 Rear hatch carpets in GC are hard to find.

Good condition complete fog lights without the missing finishers. They are still available new though.

    Factory radios.

TT bumpers are hard to find, you can still buy them new but $$$ (3 to 5month wait). Im chasing a 3spoke steering wheel non cruise if anyone has 1? Few around but all junk..

Even full stock exhausts are getting hard to find.

I have some hard to get factory parts.
1989 to 1992/8 cassette deck in new condition with option cd and complete wiring harness! bunch of factory books/catalogs/service etc etc

I would be suggesting parts like the optional altia illumated door sills, rear reverse panel and 1/4 panels being extremely rare hard to find parts these days.

The 94 optional mirror targa glass is super rare as well.

I have an late optional jdm flip out tv screen/radio along with an optional mini disc player for my audio setup which i would consider hard to find.

The very rare ukdm power steering cooler i have been unable to source for my car yet.

One interesting rare option our cars had that i have only seen in brochures is a service indicatod device located under the left side of the steerig column inside the car. It lights up the km range on a 4 set scale to tell the driver when its due for a service.

Few sets of Altia sills on ebay atm, aswell as 2+2 qtr glass. New set sold is Aust. for 1k recently!

Most parts can be found depends how much youre willing to part with.

I agree all the options are the rarer parts, In saying this the Bose stereos are so much easier to find than the standard audio.

Any chance of a picture of the flip out tv option?

Ill try and take a photo of the unit nd post it up. I actually have 3 different oem flip out tv screens in my possesion. One i have is brand new in the original nissan box. Its an early slightly smaller screen but the current one i have installed is of a series 6 (98-00) model and has a bigger screen and a standard audio 3.5mm jack port on the front of the unit along with a 3.5mm video jack port.

Im currently using a bluetooth adaptor to connect my phone to it for just audio features but i really want to try and see if i can screen mirroring my phone through the unit and if successful display my phone on the screen. I also want to install a reverse camera setup to complete the moderisation of the unit but with no documentation or information im just playing around hoping for the best.

I have both the altia door sills (installed & working) and set of altia 1/4 window panels (needs repair).

I also have the optional auto folding mirror system in my z which i havent fully connected yet.

Thanks, keen to see it. There also the Altia rear panel if you wanted to complete your set on Ebay . Qld.

For anyone else wanting the Altia options theres a few sills , rear 300zx panel and 2+2 qtr's on Ebay Aus/US and Asia. Aswell as a few sets on Jap Auctions (freight will be alittle high)

Actually there was a 4th altia panel. It was located on the top of the rear window. Ive seen it once in photos on the net.

As i prefer the later red style reverse panel i am happy to leave the altia version out of my collection.

Other rare parts id like to mention, the rear tt spec oem wheels which are 8.5inch wide compared to the standard 7.5inch wheels. I have a pair of these myself.

The usdm oem adjustable damping shock absorbers front and rear. I believe im the only owner who has installed these to my jdm z in the world or at least australia. I love to switch between soft and hard suspension settigs at the flick of a switch.

2000spec xenon headlights which i have and unfortunately they have suffered long term sun damage on the chrome inserts, ill need to repair them at some point in the future.

2000spec body kit parts including front bar, side skirts and spolier. I have all 3 pieces of course.

2000spec rear boot mat that goes over the top of the rear boot carpet. I have also.

Optional 6 disc cd stacker unit i have but not installed yet.

I know anti has a set of oem ski racks which are pretty rare.

As for floor mats i have the most expensive optional style floor mats in my z, which are very hard to find.

I also have the dealer optional infrared keyless remote center locking system with inbuilt alarm. Its not working anymore and i hope to fix it one day in the future.

Would love to see your car if you could post or even PM me pictures!

Interesting about the wheels, i never knew this. Ive purchased another full set with different part numbers. (pairs) I thought it maybe left and right side? Possibly front and rear sizing?

I wouldn't rate these as a rare item because they were fitted to every TT sold in the US

Wow didn't realise so many variations of parts. The flip out stereo's sound interesting. The US spec. Rear wheels are available through Z1 @ $200us each.
There's not too many options when it comes to tyres, unfortunately.

Can you post a photo of the mats. I know of 3 styles that were available.

Front and rear mudflats, not sure if they are hard to find. I think they came off
    89-90 models.
Working electric antenna are becoming hard to find.
Tyre inflator bag. PM me if someone has one to sell.
Original flare located passenger kick panel.
    Tinted 2+0 quarter window shades
    (not altia)

There's a few different types of mudflaps. There are Altia versions which are the foam type material similar to some of the spoilers. You could call them more of a spat than a mudflap I guess.

And a rubber style mudflap on the Aus spec cars.

My 89 jdm has the rubber style, only rear nothing on front. I have seen fronts in photos.

I thought this post was intended to be about hard to come by Factory Options, but it has evolved into a post about anything for the zed.

The injected foam mud flaps that Jason ttz32 mentioned (similar to the rear spoilers) was a factory option and is getting hard to find these days. These things suit the zed perfectly (IMHO the coupe ones look much better than the 2+2)

And my aftermarket pick would be the C's short shifter. Quality Japanese manufactured item that was expensive when new, but is changing hands for much more than new price these days (if you can get somebody to part with one)

Geez, MintZ32 ...... that Auto Garage TBK front bar you have in your post has got to be one of the most ugly bars I've seen on a zed (it rates up there with the ghastly Veilside shocker )
