Is there any advantages having a 2 into 1 exhaust. I refer to a twin turbo 2+0. Single 3inch piping from the cats back running stock setup?
Purely asthetic, either you like the look of a single or twin. You would want at least 3.5 inch single system to match a twin 2.5 system.
You’re reducing your overall cross section by around 12% and reducing your ground clearance at the same time. No performance advantage. Actually it would be lighter... Given it’s at the point where the gasses are coolest and moving the most slowly (comparatively) it probably doesn’t hurt.
That Blue one definitely has a style, but I am so use to the dual exit that it can't compute... I'll have to keep looking at it. Ducktail is cool though!
I would love to get a bumper like this to suit a 2+0. I have searched endlessly with no luck. Any leads would be highly appreciated.
Who here remembers the ancient "ask me how I know" thread ? Upsizing and rearranging the exhaust pipes is all well and good but we need to allow room for heat shielding on the new pipes. I saw this with my own eyes - On a summer cruise we all pulled over on the edge of a rural B grade road into into some dry grass. One poor bugger set fire to the dry grass under his car. Never seen a man move so fast getting into a Zed and launching it, was funny but not funny. Actually, fck it, was funny. But dayum his exhaust note sounded good
Twin into single does sound better, that's about the only benefit apart from a slight weight saving on a heavy car.
