Hey guys so My NA 300zx has been throwing 2 codes, ones the knock sensor code 34 and the others a bad fuel temp sensor code 42 the cars been feeling like it’s down on power,I was wondering if any of these 2 can cause loss of power? Also with the knock sensor I was gonna try bypass it but I can’t find the connector I’ve done the bypass on my other Zs but I i don’t know where’s the connector on this car, could it be someone’s deleted it ? Car revs fine over 3k
    Thanks guys

Knock sensor error will definatley leave you down on power a little.
The cable should be there somewhere, even just the ECU harness end which is all you need. The whole point of bypassing it is to reduce the amount of work you have to do, removing the connector sounds like too much effort.

With the fuel temp sensor checking the connector and cleaning it up is always a good place to start.

Hey guys, I’m gonna order the knock sensor bypass from the ecu,I just wanted to make sure it’ll still bypass with no knock sensor connector in the engine bay as I think the old owner might have cut it out

You can test your fuel temp sensor with a multimeter. If you test the resistance between the terminal and ground the results should be :

    Between 2.1-2.9 k ohms @ 20deg C
    Between 0.68-1.0 k ohms @ 60deg C
    Between 0.30-0.33 k ohms @ 80deg C

If the sensor doesn't fall between these parameters you need to get a new sensor

The simplest Knock sensor bypass is the Detonation Sensor Eliminator, it just plugs straight into the wiring harness at the back of the plenum ....... though that"s not much good to you if the previous owner has chopped off that part of the harness
