    Timing belts are the same.

You are best served getting oem stuff, but a Gates belt would be a reasonable substitute if it's cheaper. Don't even THINK about anything but oem for your waterpump  Aftermarket pumps for the zed have an atrocious track record and it's not worth the risk (who wants to do any job twice ?)

Check out your belt tensioner. Sometimes they can be rejuvenated (at a fraction of the cost) by just replacing the pulley/bearing assy

I purchasing a whole kit off RGS performance. Makes it easier. Prefer to take preventive measure to last 100,000km

There are dozens of 'service kits' out there and no two seem to be the same. The difference is in the fine print !

One kit will seem cheaper than another, but when you look closely you'll find the kit is NOT complete or has non oem items to help reduce the price. I'm like you ...... when I did mine, I wanted it done right, so I made sure I was getting the FULL 'box and dice'.

It might be aftermarket parts or just bearings instead of a replacement timing belt tensioner :( but it all adds up (especially when you get offered the better or complete parts as optional extra$)

Just to clarify my standard kit comes with OEM water pump, VTC springs, VTC seals, thermostat and cam seals, and uses Gates century series drive belts, Gates Powergrip timing belt, Gates bearings for idlers (2) and tensioner (1) and Gates thermostat bypass hoses. Where Gates parts are substituted they are at least as good and arguably better than the OEM alternative.

This kit is $575 delivered within AUS.

You have the option to add OEM or ARP idler studs, new timing belt guide washers, OEM crank pulley & seal, OEM hydraulic tensioner if needed. I don’t include these parts in the base kit as feedback from customers indicated that they were not always used (not every customer wants to cut up a crank pulley for example to replace a crank shaft front seal that isn’t leaking, or replace guide washers that aren’t damaged, etc).

With all the extra inclusions you would be looking at $900 delivered to AUS. Pretty competitive last time I checked and top quality components throughout.
