    Hi All

I have no idea why, but for some reason I can't get the airbox lid shut again after installing new air filters. I've tried everything, including taking it to a local shop - who also couldn't work it out.

In every problem there is opportunity, however, and so I am getting increasingly interested in the Sillen Design dual intake/translator system.

The car is a 1994 slicktop twin-turbo automatic and this will be the absolutely the first performance mod that the engine/drive train has ever received.

Has anyone tried these? Any pros/cons/comments? Are you glad you did it? Any side-effects/problems I need to understand? Anything I need to be aware of/prepare for/etc?

    Many thanks in advance

The stock filters are tricky to replace but certainly not impossible. Have you got your old filters there to compare if they are different?

The Sellin Dual Intake bang for buck not worth it unless you have upgraded turbos and pushing over 400 whp. You' won't notice a different on stock turbos. A manual boost controller set to 12 PSI (on a stock tune) will result in a lot more fun. The link below is for an item many of us have used and for the price is unbeatable!

I've got the selin dual intake set up.

Personally, I love it, but not necessarily for the power gains. My favourite part about it is seeing the twin pod filters just visible through the gap in the front bar. I reckon it looks dope.

I originally bought it as it popped up for a good price and was planning a more powerful build in the future (which after 2 years I'm finally in the middle of). Immediate gains weren't noticeable but at the time I was running stock boot levels. As I started cranking up the boost and modding other things it started to show it's worth a bit more and once my turbos have arrived and the engine goes back in I expect it will help a lot more. I had zero issues installing it and running it and it hasn't caused me issues yet.

If you're slowing building up to more power I say go for it because you'll probably do it or something similar eventually anyway, but it's not cheap. If your doing it just because it's too much effort to get the panel filters in just run a 3" pod filter, it'll be much cheaper and easier.

On another note, if you're going to mod your car the best advice I can give you is to work out what end state you want and to make a plan to get to it. Otherwise you could end up with a hodgepodge of parts that don't really compliment each other or aren't necessary.

    Hope that helps.

Ive seen a back to back gain of 6rwkw going from single maf to dual maf on the dyno on only 6psi boost. This figure will rise as boost pressures increase as the turbos wont have to fight for air through the stock T piece.
