Main ones are AIV and EGR (emissions, very fault prone), fuel pressure gremlin aka PRVR, the throttle body coolant lines and if turbo there's a hardline at the back of the engine that you're better off of without (connected to the 'bastard hose', just skip it with a longer single hose. Also the extra bleed point for the clutch that doesn't help anyone.

Don't forget PCV and all the coolant lines under the plenum.

    Hey mate. Go for it.

The 304 is a good motor and there are heaps of cheap upgrades available for it to boost up the HP.

I did the LS swap so can share some of the issues I came against.

Firstly the clutch master was right in the way of my right bank. You may be lucky as the 304 is narrower and it will clear. If not you have to mount the master under the dash. I used a hiace one but it was a big fuckaround.

Next isssue is the oil sump. I dont know what the arrangement is on a 304 but you will need a rear sump to fit the engine in the zed. The LS is a front sump so I had to fabricate a new sump to suit the zed.

If you are using a T56 just know that they have a very wide bellhousing and may need serious persuasion with a sledgehammer to make fit. You will most likely loose your heater.

You will have to fabricate engine mounts and gearbox mounts. And get a custom drive shaft.

The T56 has 2 overdrives so you diff ratios will be fine for highway driving.

The motor will need a bigger radiator but thankfully the Ebay VX commodore alluminimun radiator fits into the factory mounts in a NA shell. You just need to move the left lower mount on the radiator over 50mm.

Do the swap. I thoroughly enjoy mine. The v8 torque against the z32's weight makes it a very nimble car.

And I love that i only have to change the oil and the sometimes the sparkplugs every time I have to do maintenance.

If you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Swap it and fucking send it :p

In my rebuild i am using all the standard items that come with the Z32 and hopefully not moving any of the current locations of power steering a/c unit and alternator. The cruise control is staying as well.
I dearly like to run the T56 6 speed for express way cruising.
This is car is for both my wife and me to enjoy. So rather than build a his and her cars i am building one, and i want the power of the DETT but not the turbos and headaches that can come.

I know this is not the car that everyone would want but hoping people can accept my thought pattern behind it
