    Hi Zedians,

This is a bit of a lengthy thread but given that we all have a vested interest and passion for our choice of transport mainly (300ZX) the cosmetics of our cars are paramount especially with the amount of money we put into them.

So I just thought I'd throw this out there to see if anyone has had hands on experience with these products, see below! They've had good reviews or feedback by supposed customers and with me being a bit of a sceptic on these sort of things I just don't believe everything I read.
I've used all brands of products over the years with varying results. Meguiar's / Mothers / Autoglym etc are all good products for their price but I've found their are a lot of other good products on the market that are not in the mainstream of public awareness, well for me anyway, I've probably had my head in the sand too long haha!.:bash:
The high end products are not always the best.

So knock yourselves out with your input on this subject. I think it will be of benefit to us to know what's rubbish and what is value for money.
So below is a number of suggested products that seem to come up in with a positive outcome.

    Menzerna
    Collinite
    Zaino
    Wolfgang
    Durogloss
    Etc Etc.
    To name a few.

    Cheers
    Grahame.

I use Menzerna polishes with my DA and Durogloss sealants. Very happy with them. Got a small pot of colour specific Dodo Juice wax for the Exige but I haven't got around to giving it a go.

I also use the 1Z interior detailer and wheel cleaner - happy with both though I did have a spot of bother using the wheel cleaner (instructions were in German and I let it dry on my black wheels - hot day! Left some weird white residue and I had to pull the wheels off for a proper scrub).

Thank you for your response 'Chrispy' much appreciated.
I'll take your thoughts & views on all the products you mention on board.

The Menzerna polishes are a very good product although they seem to be more adapt to the harder Euro surfaces but that's not to say they aren't any good on ours you just have to work it a bit more but the end result is outstanding.
It's good to get other peoples thoughts on certain or new products as we are always looking for that product that ticks all the boxes.

    Cheers
    Grahame.

    Hi Graham! (Moderator).
Yeah I realise that the subject has been discussed before and with very good response.

Maybe I should/could have been more specific. There are some products that are/were only available to the detailing profession at one stage. But because the public have been searching via the internet for a superior product these café/boutique/special
sort of products are now becoming available to the general public through online buying.

Hence why I thought I'd ask the members that may have used some of these not so well known products & what there thoughts are on them?.
I'd just like a hands on opinion if possible.

Have a look at the 'waxit & also car care products site among others.

    Cheers
    Grahame.

Autopia.org was always the place for detailing.

Zaino and Menzerna were well regarded when I used to spend time there.

Not a problem. Four years ago I used to use Kitten and Amour all products. I have since been introduced to the likes of Meguiars and Mothers products.
I have wondered about the quality of Auto Gleem as I have not used it yet.

Some of the boutique products that have been mentioned I have never heard of. I am always interested in learning new things.

    PS Happy new year. :D

Autoglym is trade quality stuff -I keep intending to buy some but the hardest part is using up the old bottle first...

Ive used auto glym before and its great stuff. abit expensive at times but so far I'm pretty happy with the results ive been getting.

Now that I'm working for repco I been introduced to a new car car range called

    Bowdens Own

which I have no adapted as my preferred car care range to use on the Z even though I havent used a single product yet.

The reason why i want to use Bowdens own is its Australian Made and Owned and the products they sell are of very high quality from what i can tell and they are also more modern designed and packaged then any of the megiaurs, mothers or autoglym ranges I've seen so far. The way they describe the product on the website also just makes me feel like this is exactly what I'm looking for to do a specific cleaning job and I cant wait to try them when I need to wash the Z in the coming weeks.

I've already started collecting products but I wait till they are on special just to cut costs down and because I still have an almost full range of autoglym cleaning products which i now need to use up before using the Bowden owns products.

Oh HI ALL!! haha.. Detailing freak here! haha

Menzerna dusts alot, needs to be used with a buffer, not really good for hand work. I'm familiar with all the products mentioned. Auto glym is a good range, sold at all the normal auto stores for best sales point.

bowdens own aswell, wheely clean is excellent.

At the end of the day, there all competing against each other, so they have to make there stuff work. It all comes down to how the product needs to be "worked" to get the results. You really wont buy "professional" products at repco supaheap becuase it needs proper tools to work it.

armour all I wouldn't touch, end of story.

All the names youve mentioned are mainly bought online, wax it, zas, ccp etc. its easy to get, though you really need to know what the products are for and there application process.

    Now I'm excited again!

Haha! This is great now we're getting somewhere.

'mtopxsecret6' You mentioned it all comes down to how the product needs to be 'worked' to get the results. So true. The more you put into it the more you get out of it.

'ADAMZX' Bowdens Own is also a good product. They approach it with a slightly different type of formula but with exceptional results. It will be interesting what you think of it.

I had a professional detailing business many years ago giving me access to products from a number of company's that were only available to the detailing business or car selling yards. According to them their products were superior to off the shelf products.
Anyway company called 'Opal Products' contacted me & gave me some various items to trial. One of which was a polish (Opal Polymer High Gloss Polish) that surprised me with it's ease of application. Once the polish had glazed, buffing was so easy it was like chalk dust & the finish/shine was amazing. It was far better than off the shelf items.
The Auto Glym is very much the same with ease of application but with A/G having a more refined/modern Technology incorporated in their product I find A/G to be more superior.

In a few weeks I'm going to give Zaino a go as well as Collinite on two different cars. Should be interesting.

So if you happen to come across something that impresses you, well post it. It doesn't have to be 'Polish' just anything that enhances the appearance of our cars.

    Cheers
    Grahame.
