I wired in a digital speedo, stuck it on top of dash cowl.

But a good GPS HUD that doesn't melt in the sun would be better and easier.

    BigCol That's what she said...

The simplest way to get close to achieving this is to buy an aus spec speedo cluster. These have 260 as the top speed.

    yes, can be done.
Remove and disassemble your cluster. For the speedo, if memory serves, its a matter of unplugging the odometer cable and 4 screws that hold the speedo in.

From there its a simple matter of replacing with a replacement J-spec unit...
Mines, Impul, Nismo, Tommy Kiara and Z-speed for 300km/hr units. AB-Flug, Veilside (and a couple of others) make a 320km/hr unit.

    No calibration etc is required.

Alternatively, you can get replacement 300km/hr faces for your existing unit, which requires modification to your circuitry (just a resistor I think). However, these had issues with people snapping the needles off and the faces warping and the needles sticking

Full clusters used to come up pretty frequently on yahoo auctions for under $200 (add another $100 to your door), but with buyer popularity, the prices have gone up significantly.

    AndyMac Better than you

That won't work in a tunnel though if your talking complete replacement.

...and that's where all the camera's are...
