QLD Helping a Lady with a severely disabled Daughter to get her W/C Van back on the road

As the TITLE says i am looking to garner some help for a Lady with a severely disabled Daughter to get her Wheel Chair Van back on the road in a safe working order.

The lady is a client i deliver liquid supplement food too, the stuff you see some people with cancer or young babies have intravenously fed, or via a large syringe. Her daughter Claudia is 18 and severely physically disabled, but mentally still functioning and communicates via boards etc.

The problem is the hiace van year 2000 model roughly, is developing issues and Maria has been quoted from $400 to $3000 grand, no one will give her a straight up answer on whats wrong. And as a middle aged woman with no income and only a carers pension she cannot pull a few grand out of thin air, to fix it up.

So i am going to ask Niall or Karl to have a look at it and i'll pay for their time and service to see what's wrong, and if it's not major, hopefully with the help of the 300zx community we can spring for some parts and do a tech day repair job on the old workhorse so Maria can get Claudia around to school and events without trying to cough up massive taxi fares ( even the taxi subsidies only help a bit ), plus allow her to go shopping etc.

So would anyone be willing too help out once we can find out for sure what is needed. What do you get out of it ? the same as me, the feeling that you know you have helped someone in need of a helping hand and that the appreciation that comes with it.

 

Under normal guidelines we would require addresses, dates and time, but for this one its for a good cause and comes under special circumstances. Hope this goes ahead.

 

Thanks Graham, if i can garner enough help it'll be in the Redcliffe area of Brisbane, and i suppose time wise when it's suitable for all those willing to help. At the moment it's just a call for help.

 

Good deed, good for you. but one of those TV news shows like Tacey Grimshaw ACA or Kosher on morning TV or channel 10 project are always asking for these stories. They can also get more Facebook time for the cause.

I'm keen to help but availability could be difficult. I did 2-3 years as a toyota apprentice so the experience could help (though 2000 models were rare). I need to go back into that workshop to collect group certificates so could easily print off workshop manuals / recalls / troubleshooting guides.

Redcliffe is quite the drive for me, let us know when, if i can't make it i'll certainly help pass on any information i can get my hands on.
