Noticed my brake lights weren't coming on the other day only the 3rd brake light was working, replaced the bulbs on the lights worked. today they stopped working again so I initially thought the bulbs had gone except they came back on a short while after. Done a little reading and suspect its the little black box next to rear drivers side brake light? Could some one confirm if this sounds like it could be the case?
Could well be the problem, have had exactly the same problem with brake lights and window control which has a similar black box. You can take the box apart and re-solder the loose joints.
Driver nearly hit my rear, then tooted me. Thought it was just some rager complaining that I drive too slowly for a fast looking car So does this mean we don't have a warning light when brake lights fail?? Thanks for posting, I will have to go and do regular checks.
Yup it turns the warning light on the dash it would seem. Ended up going over the joints with fresh solder and replacing the five capacitors, working well now
