What are you using now? The Z1 jobbies? Expensive upgrade, what's the reasoning? Interested in the z1's ;)

    Yes Z1
    58mm is 2.25 inches
smaller than my 2.5 piping's internal diameter
    Its a restriction :)

Will sell after I setup new ones .

I don't think that will be worth it but... would like to see dyno sheet "before and after" :)

See if stepping up from 50-62 makes a difference ;)

That is totally different story unless plenum is at its maximum flow capabilities :)

However if there are no narrower piping throughout the system stepping up would be reasonable. But not at that price tag :)
Other than that you get areas of higher and lower pressure which speedup/slow down air velocity and create all sort of turbulence...

You can also play around with ka24 bodies which are 60mm...

plenum will flow more ..I keep maxxing out flow capabilities of my turbos :)

Piping and throttle bodies will be the same now ,still much smaller than plenum body.
yes expensive but will get change back from selling mine.

Eliminating all these little bottlenecks through out the system is why I make 500rwkw at only 23psi.

and air velocity ? I'm spooling faster than everyone else :)

I would think that you are spooling faster because you have newer generation of impellers then anyone else :)
But yeah uniform size piping is the way that should be done...

no was also spooling faster than other setups with the GT2860RS

removing all restrictions allows the turbo to self feed itself which is why you get more rwkw and response with less boost.

I must have got ripped off and had GT blades in my gtx :p

Serious question, has anyone bothered to modify the inlet manifolds to fit a proper 80mm or bigger throttle body on each side? I did this with a previous e30 manifold and the difference was nothing short of amazing.

Lots of work no doubt but 58mm up to 80mm one would think should make a noticeable difference.

I'd be interested to know too :) Rather than just a completely dismissive response of "don't bother" or whatever. Actual testing and reporting would be great.

At a quick calc 2 x 50mm TB's is 3925mm^2, 2 x 58mm TB's is 5281mm^2, and 2 x 80mm TB's is 10048mm^2. So approx twice the area between 58mm and 80mm. I understand that real world results aren't so reflective and related to area figures - however interesting figures none the less.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

Yeah a bloke stateside did it. Tubular plenum welded to stock runners. Looked fuggo but no idea how it performed.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

You guys need to factor that throttle bodies always have pressure drop and bigger doesn't mean better

I don't think there is 80mm in the casting, you would have to fabricate new end tanks (at least) to do it

    80mm is ridiculous .

Nissan ran 50mm piping with 50mm throttle body.

we upgrade to 63mm piping so its common sense to upgrade to a 62mm throttlebody . (especially with bigger turbos).

and 62mm is the biggest you will fit on the plenum without modification.

Well you still have to modify it slightly ;)
