I have read that the boost guage was dropped on later models.
    Read that on this forum.
Hey check out SIM300 photos for what a late late model looks like

It was removed on later models, then came back, then removed again. The car has late model everything so seems legit -if you can obtain a VIN I'd be happy to run it through fast for you.

SIM's is a very late model, probably pretty different to a 96. The airbag wheel is probably one of the biggest tells that the car is likely a genuine post 94-ish car but as Rob said it all matches up, interior, climate control pod, no hicas mounts.

Looks like a nice example if you want something to keep fairly stock.

Yeah cheers guys. I was thinking perhaps a conversion when I saw the boost gauge was missing. I'll suss out the vin number.

It looks like a 1996 model.
As rob260 mentioned, the VIN is the key.
If you end up taking a serious interest in this vehicle, have the engine compression tested prior to purchase.
Don't fall for the line "It's already been checked & it's all OK".
At face value, it looks to be in better condition than most.

Could be a real winner :br: Great colour, manual TT, low kms, very original.
That excellent condition, not-retrimmed steering wheel together with the very little wear on the driver's seat certainly support the low kms. The not-worn white line on the light pod's light switch and not-worn indicator arrows all go together. Doesn't look like the dash has started to lift at the windscreen (so hasn't spent most of its life outside) and doesn't have the usual 1000 mods.
The black tweed was only available on later models and those black tweed seats are more-than-likely the original ones the car was sold with (my 10/97 has the same black tweed trims with back tweed non-electric adjusting 300zx logo seats). I sold a '90 TT 2 seater but auto and higher kms for more than the asking price of that car not too long ago (less sought after colour as well) - if engine is in as good condition as the rest of the car, it's a bargain :zlove:

This was my thoughts! It's a nice Z. And I'm happy to come in around that price for it too.

Thanks for all the pointers, I may have to get a fellow zedder to check her out for me as it's clearly a long way from Vic!

    Cheers

Well yes and no Adam. It hasn't been all that long minus a Z (maybe a year since I sold?). The 370z I test drove was nice but not practical enough...I still need to be able to fit my bike inside!

You'll find me in a 2011 Volvo S60 R-Design these days! In black :br: Yes a Volvo but can I say it's for the younger enthusiast? fantastic car...looks the business, and is pretty quick.

Even with these luxuries I still miss driving a Z! I'm just looking atm, but it would have to be a pretty clean and complete example. A TT manual 2+2.

Nice to here from you again Adam I miss our tech days :)

Same here mate thats why i was a little shocked to see ur post about getting another possible z. Well im still doing small stuff to it atm justed fitted a factory 6.5 flip out tv screen which all works and it has changed the way i play music.

Hopefully you get another z and come to a z cruise so we can catch up again

Factory 6.5 flip out screen? Awesome!

Yeah, could be on the books...See how we go. I may end up with my old Z haha it sold local so it's not too far away.
