Hi guys, this topic may have been already discussed. Really sorry if that's the case.
But here's the issue, I purchased a front strut bar from UAS recently but I cannot seem to make it fit WITH the throttle cable cover.
One of my options is to cut the cover into two pieces to make space for the bar.
But I was wondering if anyone here has done anything else to actually make the bar fit with chopping the cover in two.

    Thanks guys

It all depends on the bar itself, as some won't allow the cable cover some will. Google image will show many variations.

Don't know about throttle cover fitment with a UAS bar, but modifying the throttle cover is mandatory when fitting the Okyuma Carbing bar.

Essentially you lay the bar on top of the throttle cover (in its fitted position) & scribe the throttle cover with a pencil, using the bar as a template.
Remove the throttle cover & cut the throttle cover with a Dremel along the pencil line.
It is best to cut on the outside of the pencil line to provide clearance for engine movement.
Don't cut the throttle cover into two pieces, it'll look cheap & nasty.

Ya that's what I thought too. So I measures and but from the sides to make space for the bar. But the bar is still hitting the cover at like dead center. So cutting the sides made no difference to it.
The cover won't push down. I really don't wanna end up chopping it in half.
Either that or it's gonna be no cover

On another note. Does it actually matter if the cover is not there? What exactly does it do?

Why not just leave it off?

I sold mine for a bit of pocket money a long time ago.

It sits there looking "good" with a Nissan logo on it. Marketing had to have some input into the engine bay.

Haha that sums it up fine

Are you sure it's a UAS strut brace you have!

    They clear throttle cover easily

A carbing or similar style don't clear (or hardly do)

Is it a "zigzag" brace going between the plenum runners

RedZedMikey RZM should now be DZM

Could also make mounting spacer/s that were just thin enough to still allow the strut bar to clear the bonnet, and just thick enough to allow the strut bar to clear the throttle cover. A Zed I bought had a Carbing bar (I think) and had a spacer under 1 side only, raised it just enough, and bonnet closed OK.

They're discontinued now so shouldn't have any trouble selling it. Agree just leave it off.

Ya it's a "zig zag" one going between the plenum. And it sure is from UAS. I called them up to find out about it myself.
Thanks a lot guys. Looks like it'll be no cover for me

The zig zag one might be bought from UAS but that is not the usual UAS one everyone is referring to. UAS used to sell a straight one which fits fine.

The zig zag is either a carbing (rounded) OR a powertrix (flat edged)

Either way, they are not designed to clear the throttle cable cover. Either sell it for a profit or leave it off.

imo looks better with a throttle cover, hides a bit of mess. Worth notching & giving it a nice paint job. Here's one of mine

Mike UAS sell the knock off powertrix's now

Thanks. Yeah, just a stock cover smoothed/sanded & painted gloss black. Aftermarket stainless strip too.

    Here it is before paint.
