    Ohayou!

So this is my thread for my 300zx. It's more for the beautification and maintenance of my car than anything. I'm not looking to do a road or track dedicated beast, I've already got two other projects that keep my occupied for that. I'm only looking to make it a clean jap spec daily.
Here's a photo of how it looked when it finally arrived from vic.

    everyone's seen these photo's.
I'll be using this thread to ask all the stooopid questions and keep everybody entertained with my updates.

I did some maintenance work on the car yesterday.
The car has an exhuast rattle, so i decided to take the front original exhuast covers off. Though it seems the rattle is one of the catalytic converters. So I'll need to change those. Might be building the front exhuast earlier than i thought.

The bride seat is set back to far, and is too low. It has the ultra low, low low mounting plates. I't has the fully hectic sic seating position.
So the moron who put the seats in also put the seat mounting bolts in the exact same position as the floor mounting bolts. so neither could be undone, as they were hitting each other. :W::W: morons.
I managed to get the seat out, and move the bolting points on the base plates. I've still yet to raise the seat to a proper level. Its a shme the steering wheel isnt adjustable.

This seat is a damn good copy if it's not real. It has all the identification for a real seat, though the side arms are metal. The real ones I believe are alu.

I also worked on the doors. The passenger window was making a loud creaking and crunching sound. Turns out the glass didnt have the mounting bolts. The central locing wasnt working, an aftermarket solenoid had been installed, which wasnt working, and the original door solenoid had been unplugged. and the drivers mirror wasnt plugged in aswell. Looks like there have been "experts" doing some rewiring to make the car better im guessing. I removed all the added crap, and re-wired the original door loom. I pulled the mirrors apart on both sides and cleaned the motors and connectors while i was in there. I'm going to have to go from front to back and clean up the wiring in this thing.

I havent got a photo, though I pulled the centre console, and there wasn't one screw holding any of it in. Including the radio! I pulled the dash instrument cover off, and none of that is being held in with screws. I fixed the lights/overspeed warning module, and re-wired that into the loom.

Some morons just dont deserve to own a car!

Good to see someone doing things the right way. Shortcutting or bodging never works.

    Anti 14.7 x 14.7 = 44.1

    Are the seats real?

I don't believe the seats are real.

how does the trim in the boot in front of the rear struts above the abs unit, fit into the car? I've taken the sub box out, and I think it might be missing brackets in there? I haven't got the trim pieces yet, just going by photos looks like I'm missing pieces?
    thanks

I found the rear blind in the bag or parts that came with the car. It's not in the best condition. the metal frame is a bit bent and buckled.

I wraped it with 3m 4d carbon wrap. striped it completly apart and wrapped it inside and out. its not the best job, as the wrap accentuated the buckles etc.
Im expecting the wrap to come back off in the heat. will find out tomorrow.

Your wrap should stay there no problem, I have some in my engine bay, thought it would peel on first time she heated up but still there after 10 months.

I got some factory seats a little while ago, $50 for the pair. They were sitting in a pool of water and mud. I gave them a good clean and inspection. I used an extraction vacume to do the job. one of the drivers side motors is destroyed, though i can live with that for now.
This is how i got them
    [IMG]

I had to rust convert and repaint the rails

    Finished results

Im very happy with these. It turns out the dick who swapped the seats over to the brides stripped the seat bolts. They were just held in with sikaflex. So I'll have to get them helacoiled soon.

    continuing with the cleaning detailing,
I pulled the entire boot area out of the car. This was for my suspension install and because it was horrendous in there.

    Before
    [IMG]

So given the state the boot area was in, there was only one thing to do... apply elbow grease all over the boot area

    After several hours of labouring..

This is how the spare wheel came up.

In the spare time between jobs on the car, ive done some test patches on the paint work.

Im not getting the results im looking for with the paint, so I'll have to keep playing with that.

These are used of course. I'm swapping these for the KYB struts that i currently have, mainly for the ability to lower the car.

Ive still got to get into the wheel archers front rear and clean detail them, under the boot area. I've also got the engine bay to detail aswell. So these will be coming up later in the next installment.

    All coming together nicely.

  17. Loving the racing hart wheels, but there is something about the black buddy clubs I just adore. Very clean car man. If I hadn't picked up those lenso's a few weeks back, I would be making an offer on your buddy clubs.

As long as you use the correct bolts.

Have the correct bolts. Not real keen on the 370 wheels. Doesnt suit the shape of the car
