I can't believe this is happening, but the time has come to part with my Z. I have owned this car for about 5 years and have truly enjoyed every moment of ownership. Part the reason why I kept it for so long. Unlike other cars I've owned.
Times have now changed and competitive cycling takes up every spare moment I have so it's time to move on. I'd much prefer passing the banner to someone else than to see it slowly deteriorate.

    The good:

    Recently reconditioned Auto

Original condition-including the Aussie radio and cd player in mint condition

Brand new OEM rear subframe shipped from USA at great expense

Brand new OEM dash lights also shipped from USA and also at great expense (surprisingly)

    New bushes all around

    200k service completed

New OEM gaskets pcv, valves, hoses, clips, TPS ect ect ect

    New OEM exterior trimmings

New drive plate, flex plate, flywheel (whichever you like to call it). This was hand fabricated in Melbourne as a heavier duty drive plate compared to the OEM drive plate. The old one had a crack around the bolt holes which is very common with age.

    Very clean and tidy interior

    New tyres

Always garaged and always kept clean. Constantly machine polished and waxed

Complete service book stamped by the original Nissan dealer in Sydney up until 70,000kms (from memory). Includes original owner name, owners manual, a couple of other booklets and a card explaining how to use the climate control. Just adding to it's originality.

All receipts from every purchase and/or service going right back to previous owners purchases

    The bad:

She's got some k's these days, but still has great compression and blows no smoke on start up...even cold starts.

Paint although overall looks really good needs to be attended to, has quite a few stones chips on the front, rear spoiler has lots of cracks in the paint, some clear has come away from the rear window outwards but I have since polished the base colour to lessen the ugliness.

There is a little slack in the differential which can clunk as you come off the power at 60km/h. This can be worked around by easing off the throttle slowly. Trust me you end up doing this without thinking about it.

I can't actually think of anything else thats bad

In ending, she does have quite a few kms on the clock, but it did drive me back and forth to Melbourne from Shepparton (300km/day) for 6 months without a single problem. This car has been so good to me, and shows that the effort that I put into this car in maintenance has really paid off. Any parts that needed to be replaced where replaced with OEM where possible. She's not fast anymore, but if you want a cruisy reliable sports cars to take the roof off and go for a weekend drive, this is the car for you.

Send me a PM if you are interested.

    Regards

    Cam

Who ever buys this car will be getting a very good example of a pristine unmolested car.

The velour is the greatest covering of any seat material, ever. Makes driving naked a pleasure...

It's worth all the money just for that opportunity ;)

If yours shows that little wear after 324000kms, how many k's have all those worn out junkers really done which show a bit over 100,000kms?
Let's face it, after quarter of a century & so many owners, some Z's have probably had their speedos adjusted four times or more.

    No way!

Who would do such a thing?
    It's dishonest. :(
Surely they wouldn't have been adjusted, more likely going around for the second time. ;)

Doesn't seem that long ago damaged Z's suitable for parts were bringing this sort of money.

Bad market! I've had plenty of local interest from the "older" generation. Surprisingly I've had not one kid calling and asking "what does it redlines at" or "how good does she do a skid".

I think for mine though the Kms are really making people worried. Even though all of my attention was made to the drivetrain. I guy that is still interested had me do a pre-roadworthy check which un-surprisingly showed up nothing too serious. Just new brake fluid, rear brakes need a machine, a couple of bushes I didn't get around to replacing, and what they call "dampness" on the left cyl head, more than likely being just the exhaust valve cover.

Give up the competitive cycling and keep the car - where else are you going to get such a well maintained vehicle for $4500 or less, that looks this good and goes this well ...
