There's been a drastic increase in the number of people having fuel injection and ignition related problems lately, (myself included) so when I stumbled across these 'puppies' I decided a set of these handy testers were definitely going in my zed toolbox

These little 'plug in fault finders' will test the electrics in your zeds ignition and fuel injection circuits to help pin point exactly where your problems lie (and with 20yr+ old zeds, you WILL experience problems). I was provided a pair of these gadgets for evaluation, and found them simple and straight forward to use on the zed. Much easier than using a multimeter (which can't catch the millisecond injector/ignition pulses anyway), and especially 'user friendly' if you're not familiar with the zeds electrical circuitry (which can drive you to drink). The beauty of these units is in their 'plug and play' capability....... Each cylinder still runs normally while you're testing (other testing methods all drop the cylinder you're testing), this is a BIG plus if you're only running on 4 cylinders to start with  (zeds don't like running on 3 cylinders)

These things automatically demonstrate function on injector and coilpack signals, wiring continuity, power, relay, ecu, ptu, cas etc for each cylinder without even needing to look at a wiring diagram  (Injection testers are available for oem, nismo and sard injectors, so everyone is covered)

I was provided with the 300zx Ignition & Sard injector testers for my evaluation

The test lamp units are fully sealed, so water/oil/dirt and grit won't damage or shorten their life in any way, and the use of Green LED's guarantees high visibility in all lighting conditions  Each tester comes with 3M adhesive backing and facility for screw attachment to a mounting plate. (I found them easier to use 'as is')

I took a video of both the testers in action on the zed, but I couldn?t download it to Photobucket. If you?d like a copy, PM me your email address

The 300zx ignition tester is normally $30 and the injection tester $16 (which is good value because that's the price of the connectors alone). I started talking numbers, and despite the fact that these products are already very keenly priced, managed to wrangle the pair at a GB price of $35 :D

That's a nice healthy discount on something that's an absolute MUST for every zed owners toolkit :br:

The 'default' order will be for the 300zx ignition and 'quick release' oem injector testers, but the supplier has agreed to provide all injector options at the same GB price :) (Please notify injector option if required)
We need to buy a minimum of 20 to secure the GB price, but when you consider every zed owner should have these in their toolbox, I'm thinking we'll be testing the limits of the suppliers inventory

Postage will be $8.25 via Australia Post postpak to anywhere in Australia, but we can fit a few sets in a postpak for those of you who want to 'double up' and get multiple sets delivered to the one postal address (saves a few quid :))

The GB will run for about a month, so put your hand up if you're interested and we can 'get the ball rolling'. Stock is available for immediate delivery.

PM me to get your name on the list, or if you have any further questions

    Adhesive tape/screw mount?
Is there any suggestion from the manufacturer that these are plugin and leave-in?

I'll take one set, for series 1 stock NoTurbo.

I would love a set. Just need to know if I have series 1 or 2 connectors ?.
Any chance of posting up photos of series 1 coil and injector connectors as well as series 2 to make the choice 100 % right ?.
    Cheers

There appears to be some confusion......

I've had a few enquiries regarding the options available in these kits, so I thought I'd try and clarify things.

There is only ONE option available for the ignition test units. These are Custom made for the 300zx and suit the oem coilpacks (or splitfire coilpacks) using oem harness connectors.

There are 4 different options with injection test units, and it all depends on which of the following setups is on your zed :-

    1) Oem injectors with oem harness connectors (this is what came from the factory)
For ease of use, the tester for this option comes equipped with a Quick Release connector ('cause the oem wire clip one is a PITA )

    2) Oem injectors with quick release harness connectors
    [IMG]
A lot of zed owners have swapped over to this type of connector for convenience

    3) Sard injectors
    [IMG]
Sard/Denso/PE injectors using the 'top slot' connectors

    4) Nismo injectors
    [IMG]
Nismo/Series 2 and I believe JECS may also use this connector (please check before ordering)

If you're unsure of which injector/connector your zed has, PM me before ordering. (A restocking fee will apply to any exchanges due to incorrect ordering)

The default order will be for zeds using the No.2 option (if you don't state an option, you'll automatically receive this order)

PM me if you have any further queries, or wish to have your name added to the GB list

    Ah makes sense.

Is does it look like it would be possible to add extra plugs on there?

I wanna be able to test nismo, OEM and sard ones .

For now put me down as a nismo.

    Extra goodies available......

When I started to look at the logistics of postage, I realised there will be additional space available in each Postpak (especially if your only ordering a single tester set) so I had a chat with the supplier about some other goodies that could also fit in with the testers (FREE postage :D )

Here are some additional items that have been made available for inclusion in this GB :-

    * Detonation Sensor Eliminator (DSE) A handy little plug in device to prevent your ecu throwing a code34 when your knock sensor is faulty. $12.75ea (normally $15)

Matching Female Connectors are also available should you wish to replace your dodgy wiring harness connector at the same time. $11.05ea (normally $13)

    * 300zx electrical connectors (complete range, buy 1 or buy 20 :))
A perfect opportunity to replace some of those dodgy connectors on your zed
(eg coilpack, injector (oem quick release/Nismo/Sard), CTS, VCT, O2, FICD, knock sensor, AAC, AFM, PTU, TPS, CAS, Air regulator, PRVR etc) The supplier has knocked 15% off the price of all connectors for this GB (PM me for individual prices)

*300zx Electrics Kit. This kit is a complete replacement set for all fusible links/fuses in the 20yr old Nissan 300zx(Z32) (there are 3 separate fusible link/fuse boxes in a zed)
    Forum price $69.95

As an added bonus for this GB, the supplier has agreed to provide forum members an unconditional 12mth replacement warranty on all fuses and fusible links in this kit. Should any Fuse or Fusible link fail in any way (even if they blow  ) a new replacement item will be provided

    * 10pc Automotive Fuse pack $3.50ea Supplier will include a FREE fuse puller tool (normally $2.50ea) with every pack
    [IMG]

All these additional items are available to any forum member participating in this Group Buy

PM me if you have any questions or want any of these items added to your GB Postpak.

    Detonation Sensor Eliminator (DSE).......

For those that don't know, when your detonation (knock) sensor fails it is not possible to replace it with the motor still in one piece  Also, failure induces your ecu to permanently throw a fault code (34) which defaults your fuel/timing maps to safety mode producing very lacklustre performance in your zed.

This is where the Detonation Sensor Eliminator (DSE) comes in...... you unplug the subharness with the dud sensor and plug in the DSE. It now impersonates the knock sensor, supplying the correct signal to the ecu stopping it from throwing a fault code and ensuring you extract maximum performance from your zed :D

It's as easy as that  (plug and play)

As part of this GB you can have a DSE added to your Postpak for $12.75 (normally $15)
