I have started to use 10% E10 unleaded 95 recently about 6 weeks ago and having cold start problem in the morning. And it is getting worse every week. Not sure if I have damaged spark plugs or something else. Car runs smooth as once started. Is there anyone else encountered similar issues after using E10? Will go back to BP 95 unleaded from this week. Car is daily and morning sickness is killing me.

im running e10 with no issues.

maybe if you think it is the fuel, go and top up with bp ultimate or another no ethanol high octane fuel to dilute what remains of the e10 mix in your tank.

Also thinking of changing coolant sensor to ECU. does anyone have the part number to get from Nissan if it is still obtainable.

Yes I do have Innovative wideband AFR gauge for both dump pipes. But unplugged it since tuning was finished. Time to hook them up again.

Maybe consider changing fuel filter. It could be clogged? What about fuel pressure? Does it come up ok?

Don't have a fuel pressure gauge. Will check the filter tonight.

hook up widebands and nistune. post video of AFR and timing at cold start ecu coolant temp aswell

It could well be the filter. E10 will slowly clean out your 20 year old fuel lines.

Good idea to change the filter after the first tank or two, then again maybe after 1000-2000kms.

    elaborate on this for me?

are you saying the ethanol content will have a positive or negative effect on the old fuel lines? and are you refering to the metal or rubber lines, or both?

Shouldn't hurt the fuel lines, but it will clean em out like new :D

e10? I thought the collective opinion was "AVOID"

Why is anyone using e10 unless they have tuned their car and changed injectors?
I thought all the TT's were on 98+. unless racecar

From what I've researched e10 is fine with stock injectors if you've modified the wiring so they are not constantly live, change them to ignition switched.

Also e10 doesn't need retune. Stock ecu will handle it no problem. Personally I wouldn't use 95 e10 though. United's Premium 100 e10 is PULP98 based.

My Zed, S1 NoTurbo is sluggish on e10 (I think the RON is 95) and uses an extra 5% or more fuel.
If I use e10 in a 3.8 commodore (2001 model) the engine warning light comes on intermittently. Using standard 91, 95 or 98 in the commodore sorts out the warning light.

So I just don't use less than 95 in my Zed. No starting problems. :)

E10 doesn't hurt anything, ran it on my NA for a long time(100RON). It will run leaner than regular petrol on the same tune, when i setup my SAFC i tuned it to about 12.5:1 on 98RON, filled with 100RON E10 it leaned out to 12.9-13:1 at WOT.

thats why on later cars, there is no point running fuel with 10% ethenol for econmy reasons because if the car has adaptive fueling it will pump more in to keep the same afr.

This should not effect the cold start, ethanol should make it start easier IMHO.

how much power you end up with?what plugs ..

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

No. Its the opposite. The more metho you add, the more difficult cold starts are.
Its to do with the vapour pressure of ethanol and the colder it gets, the further away from it vapour point it gets.
The fuel cannot burn in liquid state and cold enough, you end up just injecting liquid metho and get a very incomplete burn hence the hard start, or no start if its really cold enough.
