I was thinking mid August a nice docile (insert Enya playing on sound system) cruise up through the black spur to Marysville and then Lunch at the Pub up there, park the zeds and those that want to hop on the bus (15 to 20 min) up to the top of Lake Mountain for some tabogganinining or bush walking through to the cross country fields or Build a snow man and hurl verbal abuse to destress yourselves. Then on the bus back down to Marysville and cruise home. Wadda ya reckon? :

I could be in pending dates Also don't speed in and around Mansfield during winter as there are always speed traps set up. We see them every time we head up to buller. So depending on where the cruise goes just be wary.

Speed is one thing to avoid when doing a cruise like this...just a nice cruise is all thats needed...things can go wrong very quickly when going too quick especially on a road that your not familiar with or that can be just around the corner, as its very easy to go off the road when up on wet roads & tight corners Abraham
No doubt. But its only in bad icy weather and such that you need to actually have chains on. The rest of the time the just need to be in the car In case of an emergency.
Tentative Dates Okey doke, depending on peoples preferences I'm thinking the weekend of August 3rd. We'll have a SE meetup point (Bunnings Frankston) and the guys in the west can nominate there own. The Cruise starting point will be Lilydale Bunnings Carpark... then on to Marysville. Those not catching the bus up to the snow could have lunch at the pub in Marysville and those going up can grab a bite at the cafe at Lake Mountain. As a couple of guys have pointed out, this will be a very laid back sceneic cruise as the roads through the forest get damp and slippery in some spots at that time of the year. Chains won't be needed as we won't be taking the Zeds right up to the snow line, that part for those that want to will be by Bus. Let me know if that date suits... Cheers!
