Does anyone know if a import cluster will work in a Aus spec 2002
As it seems hard to find a aus 260km speedo.
And alot of import clusters out their.

I have an import cluster on my Auspec.

I rather everything spaced out and more easier to identify than the small 260 cluster numbering sequence.

It'll work fine, just plug and play !
Just make sure that the series numbers are the same (ie. if the import is a series 1 cluster then the auspec will need to be a series 1 for it to work) - I think. Please correct me if I am wrong!

What do you mean by Aus Spec 2002?

The speedo cluster changed plugs around '92, but if you get a S1 cluster you can just switch the speedo into your old cluster.

How can you tell if you have a series 1 or 2 ?

Have to look at the plugs on the back of the cluster, not sure if I have seen a photo showing the difference. But they don't come even close to fitting.

Are the auto and Manual Clusters the same ?
Or is their a difference between them ?

Clusters are the same, but the surround has additional warning lights for auto things.

Yes, I agree with this. No point in dropping in a 260kph cluster and then have those fine degrees of needle travel. Every mm of needle travel is very important these days, because the cops are cracking down.

On Queensland TV news, the Police spokesperson advised all drivers to travel 5kms below your marked speedo reading to compensate for potential inaccuracies and speed creep between glancing at the speedo.

I have never seen a speedo that reads less than the speed you are doing , they seem to read higher so infact you are less likely to be over than under. Strange thing i have also found is that Nissan appear to be more accurate than others.

    If it's a genuine 2002...

then it's NOT an "Ausspec". Nissan stopped importing 300ZX's in 1996!
They were only brought in between 1990-1996.
If it's compliance plate is anything outside these years, it's a "grey" import!
And the genuine "Ausspec" speedo runs to 280 kph (although the car doesn't)

The Aus standard states that your speedo is not allowed to read LOW, ie 95kph when you are actually doing 100kph. It is permitted to read higher than the actual speed, by 5kph.
