    A well maintained, unmolested Z...dumped?
Must've broken or something, maybe the owner is trying to sort out a plan. Shame...be easy for it to get stolen =[

If it was you deserve a finder's fee.

Does it have rego and plate?
"Vic roads" dept should be contacting the owner now.

    Maybe put /write a
    www.aus300zx.com
so the owner (when found) can give an update.

may be broken down and owner has no means of moving it, I should drop a few of my mates towing cards on the windscreen for him just in case. could work out a deal to help him out.
feel bad knowing some1 is going to lose there zed.

If they lose their Z it's their fault really. You don't just leave a car parked outside some guy's house and not come back. Vicroads and/or the cops will have already tried to reach him (if not by phone, then by visiting him).

One of the melbourne mechanics or paintshops should recognise it? It looks like it has been looked after.
I wonder what happened to the owner? Maybe overseas and doesn't know the car has been taken and dumped? Or someone doesn't realise that one of their red zeds isn't in the garage?

If someone is considering moving the car then they only have a few days to do it.
It would be a good idea to knock on the door of that house and ask if they want it moved, so you can get their approval (exchange contact details so that it isn't GTA) leave a letter for the owner, just in case they show up one day.. but then what?

PS: l used to live inner city suburb of Sydney. Hardly anyone parked in the street they lived in. My car was parked two streets away for 8 weeks while l was OS. Didn't want to move it because it was such a good spot. Never got an abandoned vehicle note on it. The car wasn't pristine looking, but it was registered.

2/4/2013 ? on the sticker ?. For the council to put a sticker on it you would think that the home owners have complained it's been there for a while. Also would need to be unregistered for them to do that. Councils would not be smart enough to check the rego label and search for the owner. To much like hard work and no easy dollar in it means they just won't bother. That zed looks a bit like one that was from Ballarat via Geelong and belonged to Liam ? if it's the one I was thinking of.
    Cheers Dave

I think you are right about that. Councils are very good at giving themselves a pay rise and then raising rates to cover their higher costs. They wouldn't bother checking whether the car is an obvious wreck or lost vehicle.

Someone who knows the rego plate, is it listed as stolen on REVS (or whatever the website is) ?

PS: is the interior intact? James did you see fire extinguisher or anything unusual?

It happens. Once I sold a crashed car to a guy, he stripped it of parts and dumped the shell on someone's land. They wanted to tow it, got the cops involved, I got a visit (as last registered owner) and it got sorted.
Point being...it does happen. I suppose this is different as mine was a wreck, but if it's on someone's property they can get stuff done.

Not sure parked outside your house is the same thing as being on your property though...

Update? Was it stolen and dumped?
Did you "REVS" check the rego plate?

    Car is still there, lol.
Rego is current according to VicRoads site until November this year.

No point paying for a REVS check. I checked the doors / interior - no signs of it being broken into or started without a key.

Guess it will eventually be towed if the owner doesn't turn up.

Far out I was having a panic attack for minute, I live in Rowville and I thought you were talking about my Z.. Mines safe in my garage still :D

I did see a red 2+2 on Gumtree or ebay being sold in Rowville about a good 6 months ago+ that apparently hasn't been on the road for 2 years or so. Wonder if that was the same one that got fixed up, and now broke down ?

Hmm I've seen about 5 or 6 cars abandoned in Rowville Stud Rd and Wellingtons roads in the past 1 year.. Always wondered why so many dumped cars, probably ppl from dandy or something passing through.

Theres still a Eunos 30x at Rowville Red Rooster carpark thats got the sticker put on it donkey months ago but haven't bothered to take away it in 4 or 5 months I think.. Already has smashed passenger window, kicked in panels and looks like a rubbish dump inside.

If the car is registered for the public road, then it should have an address on its Vic roads paperwork that it can be parked in front. (The owner should be notified by letter)

Anyway, what happened? Anyone know? Wantazed should pop his phone number on it. :)
