First of all Id like to thank Mick for organising a fantastic Z cruise for us vic members. I thoroughly enjoyed this cruise and will definately do it again next year.

Another big thank you to Ross and his partner for hosting lunch at their beautiful home. The food was cooked to perfection and I really enjoyed catching up with some old friends and also new friends.

So here is how the day panned out for me.

First we all gathered at the usual Todd Rd Shell Station where Mark became the new BigCol (LOL), he did a great job keeping everyone together during the trip up to gisborne, so thank you Mark for leading the convoy for us.

It was a great turnout for the vic crew at todd rd with I think about 15 cars before we headed off.

As you can see we had the whole 4 lane freeway to ourselves:)

We arrived in gisborne where we were to meet up with the rest of the Z's attending today's cruise. Everyone quickly started socialising while we waited for the other group to arrive and I think the blue 200SX catch the eye of most of the group.

Alex's new spoiler and Twin Z rear diffuser made a hugh visual difference to the BADXTC mobile. Loved the new look Alex;)

With Mark's job done Mick took over and lead everyone to the next point which was Mount Macedon.

The road leading to the carpark at Mt Macedon

As we arrived into the carpark, it became clear we werent the only car club coming to Mt Macedon. An exotic super sports car club had also gathered in the car park featuring a couple of posches, a 350Z vert, a Masarati and 2 Lamborghini's. I waited till everyone left to go to the summit of Mt Macedon and then wondered over to the beautiful exotic cars and took some photos. But no matter how good these cars look I still find the Z32 my dream car.

    Time to head off:)

From Mt Macedon we jumped onto the Freeway heading for Castlemaine.

I think this is when Dean (black car, new member) had car trouble, and after making it to Castlemaine the group stopped while Mick was informed of the breakdown. I took a few quick pix before we continued to Ross's place for Lunch.

Here we are all parked in Ross's massive backyard. as you can imagine everyone was very hungry and though Ross had already started cooking on the BBQ the food was being eating up so fast Ross couldn't keep up with demand. But he did an expect job and this has to have been the best BBQ I have ever had in my life:).

Ross hard at work on the BBQZ:).

The best place to eat and socialise was the garage. The sun by this time of the day was burning the skin.

The Food Bar:). By the time I had taken this photo Ross had already done 3 servings of food. great effort Ross.

I missed the mini tech day to help new member dean get his car running enough for him to drive it.

After a good feed and heaps of soicalising with eachother we jumped back in our Zeds and headed to the next destination.

    Rod Hadfield's Hot Rod Museum

After a few group shots of all the Zeds we headed into the museum to wonder around and check out some amazing cars Rod had on display.

and to finish the tour was a very long discussion with rod on his high speed Holden sedan salt lake racer. To date he has Australia's fastest car with an impressive 259.9 miles per hour atm. The car is currently in a bad shape after blowing up his clutch at a recent slat lake race. He is aiming for 300 mph but he has alot of fine tuning still to work out but he is confident he can make that mark.

    Hey Guys,

Finally got around to putting up some pics after having some issues finding a half decent hosting site. But first and foremost, a huge thanks to Mick and Ross for another awesome Goldfields cruise. A great turnout with beautiful weather and sweet cars = awesome day!

Also thank you Ross and Kristy for hosting such a loud and hungry bunch :D Your backyard was somehow just right to perfectly park the whole fleet as well, looked like it was meant to be.

Mick, ROFL at your Alex captions (sorry Alex :p). Mark, you've done an absolute kickarse job with the photos and write up. You really captured the vibe and success of the day with your member shots and sweet shots of the Zs.

Anyway without further adieu, here are my selection of shots for the day:

The NOS tank that blew after Rods salt racer caught fire at over 200mph. He activated both engine bay and in cabin fire extinguishing systems, causing him to pass out while still doing over 100mph after his parachute failed and brakes all burnt out. Once he stopped, the fire wardens pulled him free and continued to try and put out the inivisible methanol fire after which the NOS tank exploded, luckily not killing anyone. Suffice to say, regulations about NOS tanks in the engine bay were changed after this incident..
