Have to replace the front Camber arms to adjustable. The direction the bolt goes through it means that I cannot just pull the bolt out as it will hit the body. This means that I have to remove the inner camber chassis mount that has the four bolts/nuts (IMO they seem like they are tough to remove without a breaker bar). Can the bolts be reversed on reinstall (to make it easy in future) or are they that way for a particular reason such as cannot come out accidently if they loosen. Are these bolts welded or movable, I am just wondering if I can use an impact driver to get them off or whether they will need to be held from the other side (bolt side whilst undoing them)? Anything relevant that I should know when doing this? Pays to check in advance Cheers
P.S. I have read almost every post on the pro's and cons of low low Z's and snapping FUCA's so I am aware the geometry / engineering required for such deeds. I considered shims, but will go with adjustable FUCA's to do this job. My question is in relation to installing / reinstalling more than FUCA problems. Dont want to start a s...fight seeing the other threads just need some help in the assembly / reassembly issues. Cheers
I always just remove the main bracket. You will need a good breaker bar/rattle gun. Not sure about reversing the bolt, don't see why not.
Removing the bracket is easy and can be done with a regular socket and extension, so long as they haven't been removed before and refitted by a drop kick with a rattle gun like mine were. I had to rent a torque gun to get them off (rattle gun of my own didn't cut it)
You can go with the adjustable FUCA of your choice and also augment that with slight shimming as well. In doing so, you reduce the amount of the adjustable extension of the FUCA required if you're planning on a real low stance. The combination also will reduce the amount of stress on that adjustable FUCA.
Make sure to use a GOOD quality socket! Once stripped all these nuts are real FUCA's to get off - I should know, guilty of doing it.
