Cheers, I'll put the covers on after the exhaust cam gears have been set.

Just down by the PCYC - noticed the Z turned up under a car cover a few weeks back - then the Surf gave away who it was....
Let me know if you need a hand....

Yeah that's me I decided to move back to my mums so I could save BIG for a house deposit, but space has become bit of a problem. I don't think I have seen your Z getting around.

I have started to do a bit of work on the cooling systems.

I relocated the stock oil cooler and am now using it to cool the power steering oil, need to get some fog light ducts to finish it off. Does anyone see a problem with it been upside down? Something to fix up later maybe.

I have collected most of the bits for an oil cooler setup, waiting on some new fittings to arrive because I ordered the wrong ones.

It's a tight fit with the sandwich plate, I didn't realize it was going to be so big. Probably about 6mm clearance from the exhaust and steering knuckle. Set up is 10AN lines, Earls thermostatic sandwich plate and a Earls cooler 7.75in. x 13.00in. x2 in.

So I have had the car together and driving for the last week (minus half of the interior). No major problems just a small leak from the power steering hose, just tightened the fitting up with some thread sealant and all good.

Took it for a run down to Kyogle today and she runs great. Coilovers are a bit firm on the crappy roads but it really sticks in the corners. Have to say it really hauls ass, mid range power in awesome. Didn't need to take it over 4500rpm to really get it moving. Only running wastegate boost at the moment 14psi.

Have put 800km on it so far so will get it dyno tuned shortly. It's running quite rich, bumpers all black.

    As always a pic.

After a week of driving to work and back I think I'm starting to hate the coilovers. I might look at getting some Bilstein coilovers. I would also like to go for a ride in a car that's running some monoflex's.

Are the Ultra lights the standard 8/6 kg springs or did you spec something else? The monoflex's are 9/7 so will actually be worse to daily. You probably want to find something about 6/4 if your roads aren't great, may even be worth contacting powertrix as you might be able to go a couple kg lighter in your springs without needing revalving to suit.
Super streets would be a bit softer again, think 5/4.

Also do you have aftermarket sway bars fitted? Might be worth going back to stock if you do.

    Cheers, Tim

Other than the coilover "problem " you must be damn happy!

Keep us informed on what you do with your coilovers. My next mod is the suspension. Oh and Lidz... thanks for a simple easy to understand answer to spring rates.

Yes the standard 8/6 springs. I do have big sway bars, I will disconnect them and take it for a drive and see how it goes. I might lift it up a bit as well.

I have a feeling the problem is poor dampening though. Maybe I'm to used to the 4wd it has 33's on it and just rolls over anything.

Yes stoked to be able to drive the zed around again has been off the road for a bit over a year.

In a couple of weeks I will look at getting an adaptronic ecu and a dyno session booked in somewhere not sure where yet.

Been overseas for a while so haven't done a great deal. Had the ac re-gassed and put 95% of the interior back in. Also got a Haltech Platinum ecu today, not running off the base map so will have to muck around with that, ditch the AFM and hook up the map sensor.

Should be ready for a dyno session soonish not really happy with the fuel setup as yet. Currently it is 750cc Jecs, stock rail setup minus damper and Bosch 040?? not 100% sure what the pump is but its really loud. I have a new Aeromotive fuel reg there I will put in once I decide on final injector and rail setup. Might change the pump out for one of those big Walbo's before the dyno, while I'm at it I'll also setup a relay with some good size cable for the pump.

Running quite well on the map sensor now. Not sure if I'll need the external sensor the internal one reads up to 23psi.

So I just need to install the air temp sensor and new fuel pump and it will be ready to run on the dyno!

Check with haltech as I was told they are using internal 3 bar map sensors now (up to 30psi)

This is what it says on haltech website. "Selectable onboard internal MAP sensor rated to 150kPa (up to 1.5 Bar or 22psi boost)"

I might send them an email.

Yes but was told they have upgraded.

A 3 bar MAP sensor is capable of reading intake pressures up to 2 bar of positive pressure above atmospheric (otherwise known as boost). This is equivalent to around 29.4psi of boost or 200kpa of positive pressure. This sensor is suitable for turbocharged or supercharged vehicles running between 15psi and 30psi of boost.

Well I hope it has been will save me some work, glad I wasted my money on the external 3bar sensor.

    double check .

I'm running 3bar external.. but after my mechanic spoke to Haltech ,was told they have 3 bar internal now (including mine:rolleyes:).

But was also told that external is better for my engine due it being real responsive ..

ask some questions and let me know what feedback you get .
