Hi guys Ex zed owner here seeking some advice. I now own a Nissan S15 Silvia but have always loved the bolstering of the 300zx electric seats. I'm now toying with the idea of adding a Z32 electric drivers seat to my S15 (pending fitment). Could anyone tell me the exact dimensions across the seat base (from handbrake area to door) and across the upper bolsters (shoulder to shoulder near the top of the door)? I'm concerned that given the S15 is slimmer than zeds that a retrofit will hit my door. I understand I'd have to run an ignition powered wire under my carpet to hook up to the electric seat motor and modify the Z32 seat rails with new tabs to fit my four S15 floor mounting points.
If you can wait until the weekend I can give you the dimensions you're after, including seat base mounting points.
Really appreciate your offers guys. Would be fantastic if one of you could tell me the dimensions so I know what I'm in for with this proposed project
I would be very surprised if they wouldn't fit. People fit race seats in Sil's all the time and they fit ok. My Velo's and Recaro's are wider than standard seats by a fair bit, specially at the top.
Okay, my driver's seat measures 590mm across the base, and 480mm across the backrest around shoulder height. Hope this helps.
I was counting on it haha! Can't help if the zed seats feel better than S15 ones though. It seems this project won't eventuate however. After measuring up my car it appears the Z32 seat base is way too wide (would stick out beyond the door almost!). Thanks anyway all
Wha... really? I probably should have clarified that the 590mm measurement included the width of the electric seat controls and the seatbelt latch. If you can dispense with both or make them more compact, then the seat measures about 530mm wide.
