    Update: Engine Assembly Part 2

Just some random shots from tonight. Still a bunch of little things here. Need maybe a day or two at the current rate to finish.

    Update: Engine Bay Respray Complete!

BIG thank you to my Dad that sprayed the Engine Bay... while I depressingly went back to work today, first day back from my 18 days leave.

Huuuuge grin on myself. This pictures do NOT do this justice. It's come out this beautifully glossy mirror finish... :zlove:

Only gripe is that while the spray job itself was perfect, it exposed in a few areas (thankfully never to be seen areas once Engine is in) some oddities in the Chassis. Two that I'm talking about are one near the Main Harness on the Firewall & the other on the Upper Radiator support (to be covered with a full Radiator Air guide anyhow).

Will start redressing the Engine Harness with new Split Loom I've bought sometime this week, then reinstalling Power Steering Hard lines then Air Con lines, then everything in front of the Radiator (Lights, Wiring, SMICs, Intake Piping, etc) then finally Engine will be dropped back in and I'll be turning the key for the first time with even a little bit of luck this Saturday, provided I can get someone out here to upload a 750CC Selin Dual Intake Tune onto my Nistune beforehand.

    Anyhow. Enjoy. :D

No Flash (used a flood light nearby to light it up, it was getting late, not enough light)

    Battery Tray

I seem to recall this looking a little different... :p (oh, and the reason for it's rough texture, it was coated in Fibreglass Resin... lets see this b*tch rust now, eh?!)

...kinda sad now that my Engine Bay shames the rest of the car lol. All in time. Rest of the Zed will get a respray in the coming year. Not done with this girl yet... ;)

    umm...What chassis rail repairs :)
That engine bay is going to look absolutly brilliant when you drop that sexy engine in.
A few shiny polished/chrome bling bits to set it off and that will one hell of a wow factor.

Keep up the good work.

You do know that with the help from dad your gunna have to toss him the keys for a couple of drives ;)

Polished, maybe. Chrome, no. I'm not a fan of Chrome. Yea it looks good, but so many people have chromed so many things to death it is just far too common to look special now... to me at least.

As for my Dad, yea thats a given. Never had an issue with him driving it before. Don't see there being an issue now. The only thing is that I run it in for the first 500-1000KM at least. After that, can mix it up.

    Update: Main Harness Redress Complete

So over the last 2 days (and nights) I've been spending hours cutting back and off parts of the Main Harness and redressing it entirely in new Split Loom Cover and also soldering in the new Injector plugs that came with the 750CC injectors. I haven't left a single wire uncovered with split loom. Even ones that had no cover at all. Have also slightly rerouted some parts to make it easier to manoeuvre & hook up. :)

I wanted to also cut and tuck the no longer needed plugs like EGR, AIV & PRVR but I didn't want it obvious that they were there to begin with.

Interesting fun fact, I've ended up using more then 40 meters of electrical tape...

Just waiting now on the new connectors from Black Baz (thanks again mate for shipping them out asap). New Coil Pack, CTS, AIR Reg, FIDC & AAC connectors.

    Anyhow, this...

    Plus this...

...and this. My one of a kind Custom Main Harness. :D

So does wrapping looms with electrical tape get any easier the more you do it? My foray into wrapping looms was traumatic- and that was just the PTU relocation and re-wrap of the CAS and some thermofan wiring :(

How many rolls is 40m? What brand do you use? Nitto is my favourite.
It's also probably too late, but you know there is a wire insertion tool to get the wires neatly into those split tubes ;)

    MoulaZX #TEAMROB

I wouldn't call it traumatic, just stupidly time consuming. Also remember I was able to sit comfortable in the engine bay and manoeuvre it pretty easily in my lap and take my time. (Not sure if you saw the last three phone camera pictures I just added).

I was using some professional stuff from an Auto Electrician, brand was OEX I believe. Each roll was 18.3M I used about 2 and a half rolls.

And yea you ass, too late for the tool now! Where were you 2 days ago?! :p

Also I should thank you too. That diagram up on the laptop was from a post of yours I stumbled across that helped a lot when I was modifying. :)

provided I can get someone out here to upload a 750CC Selin Dual Intake Tune onto my Nistune beforehand.

I got Mark (MRC) to rip my tune onto a USB just before I sold it - JECS 750cc's, SELIN kit, same turbo's etc - you know the story

    Let me know.

Oh man that milk crate must get hard on the old rear end after a while.
Great job looks a lot better than the old loom. Ivan :)

Haha! Hey! Look who it is! Didn't think you'd still be trolling my thread, lol.

Appreciate it, mate. I'll give you a call tonight and see what I can do to take you up on that.

I just need a way to upload it onto my ECU now. I have the cable + trial Nistune but I don't think you can modify a tune with the trial version.
