Not quite home but back in Sydney for the next few days.

As to safe, not too sure about that, as I don't know if Chili will ever forgive me for entering his car for the concours day and then deserting him after lunch.

A few pics from the track:

Not having my zed down there definately brought on a case of itchy feet. Can't wait to get home and back to work finishing the zed.

If you had fun then there was no sucking man :) Wokky was running "linglong" tyres on the back of his car (seriously called linglong) and had the most epic spin off on the last session   And I'm only got about 250rwkw at the moment (shot turbo actuators, won't hold boost), so all in all I was very stoked at my time in the end. Although playing with matty in the 3rd supersprint session was my highlight!

Excellent weekend, good to catch up with the crew again, and some awesome datto's down there! I don't think that a single z32 could be considered to be the same, every single one shone through with it's owners personal taste.

Wokkie also had an excursion into the gravel trap. There may be something that has let go on the front left steering/suspension that we'll hear about after he has had a chance to look into it. May also be some discount gravel available for driveways after he empties out the front bar.

It was a GREAT weekend. Still on the buzz.
Wife and I had a ball. We met a lot of forum people there and they made us feel part of the crowd.
Big thank you to Chilli, Lil\' Baz, Doug, Joe, Stef, and the others for the friendship and many laughs. Sorry if I dont know the names. Too many people and not enough memory.
Thank you to ProckyZ89, for the replacement centre panel. Sorry I did not come on the cruise with you guys, but we were knackered.
Thank you to Dean, and others who helped me with connecting conzult and diagnosing some problems with the engine.
"Kitty" got us home safe and sound. A bit rough in a few places so its got to be a bad contact somewhere. Even found some roadworks on the way home just to get it dirty :(

Congrats Joe on the awards with that magic Zed of yours. So glad I got to see it and all the other cars in person.

Ran into a RBT at Gilgandera. Big surprise to see "Miss Piggy" (Neeta Morris - friend in HWP) was running it. Known her for years. We chatted about cars, and we were on our way. Held 1st gear to 6000 rpm just to stir her up. She knows what I am like. She'll hang crap on me next time we meet, no problems. :)

So looking forward to easter next year for ZedFest. Can't wait.

An absolutely awesome weekend with an awesome bunch of people! and incident free for me! no over heating, no spewing and no broken bones, so it left a lot of time for me to have a great time!

my zed ran beautifully, even in the 1 1/2 hours of bumper to bumper traffic!! i had an awesome time down at the track yesterday at the pit wall!! feeling the rumble of those machines ripping past you just a metre or so away at 200+kms!!! amazing!!!! i even had to cal Benny_C so he could hear my girly screams!!!

was great to catch up with everyone, its been too long! yes, the weekend was disorganized, really, there was very poor communication, and no-one ever really seemed to know what was going on and there was a lot of just waiting around, but we go to these events to hang out with a truly awesome bunch of people and drive our beautiful cars.... which is exactly what we did!!

thanks to everyone who made the weekend so great! we all did our part :) we all rock!!! :D:zlove:

    What A Weekend

This was my first big weekend away with the 300ZX Club members and what a great weekend. My sons and I loved it. Can not wait for Dubbo.

Got back to Canberra ok but James can had a pool of coolant under it when we got home  , not happy considering we just got the heater pipes fixed just before we left. Anyway, it didn't dampen the weekend. Met some wonderful people, made many new friends and enjoyed every minute (well maybe not so much the Presentation Night).

Here a couple of quick photos, more will follow hopefully tomorrow night.

The Dinner of the Friday night was great.

There were a lot of Z32s which was great to see.

Also, for some that are relatively new to Nationals, FYI, the Rob Shannon award came about because Rob (of Shannons insurance) was a proud sponsor and helped get the event off the ground. He always supported Vic events in anyway possible, lived life to the fullest and even peddled on the track occasionally. Joe, your car was sensational and you thoroughly deserve the honour.

Standing around from 8.00 am until 4.30 pm, just to be judged, was a real PITA.
Doing it alongside my dear friend Joe(and his magnificent Full Scale Z32 Model Kit)didn't help.:p:D:D

The rest was absolutely great fun. Lynn and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute(as usual).

It's great to be with great people!:zlove::zlove:

I had a top weekend, even if it looked like something didn't want me to attend. Put the car on the trailer late on Wednesday night......what is that? flat tyre on the trailer, on goes the spare. Stop off at Bob Jane in the morning on the way north to replace the flat tyre which had a hole in the sidewall. Three hours later on the Hume just out of Benalla, cruising along at 110 Ks and the trailer goes "BANG" and starts smoking very badly. Pulled to the side of the road and found that one of axle U bolts had snapped allowing the left hand front to collapse. A big thank you to the friends who stopped and helped, Karyn and Sean from Concours who assited and Dougy who took Jen into Benalla to buy replacement U bolts. Half an hour later and we were back in business.

The rest of the weekend was a constant blur of cars, people, places, food and drink. Karyn didn't get her race car finished in time for the event so I said she could dual enter in my car for the weekend so Friday saw us out at Marulan (I think that is how it is spelt) so she could get familiar with the car before Wakefield Park. It was a top half day and I can really recomend the venue, Sydney guys should think about organising a track day out there........you will have a blast.

Saturday saw us at the Show and Shine parked next to Joe's car so I got a good chance to see just how good his car is....and a very deserving winner of the Robert Shannon Perpetual Trophy. Unfortunately even though we got there at 8.30 am and were one of the last cars to leave we didn't get judged.......so who knows if we might have given anyone a run for their money.

Sunday and Wakefield Park.......the real reason some of us go to the Nationals. I jumped in and helped the organisers out with scrutineering, it would have taken them forever otherwise. Had to unfortunately ping Matty for an unsecured battery mounted in the hatch area, given the off he had at the end of the day I'm very glad I picked it and also that he jumped in and did such a good job of fixing it. I have to say a big thank you to Joe at Dontex who built my engine, and Bob who tuned it because the thing is wonderful. After 2 years of motorsport it is still going strong and it didn't miss a beat on Sunday even with 2 drivers working it hard, sometimes it only had enough of a break between sessions to change over drivers. It doesn't have the power of some of the other cars (under 300kw) but the power is good and usable, although on such a short track richmond gears would be worth their weight in gold. Still, I can't complain about my times (like all drivers I'm sure I would have gone faster in the next session....) and the results have me toward the top of the heap on each of the layouts so something must be working.

Because the car is no longer registered I ticked the box for "Race Car" on the entry form and that placed me in a different category to most of the other Z32s and I ended up comming away with a trophy which was very suprising and very nice. Congratulations to JT for bagging one as well and comiserations to John from UAS who had all his hard work to get the car on the track undone by one little bit of hose (and a hungry turbo). Big conratulations to Joe who not only bagged a couple of trophies (including the "BIG" one) but also walked off with a couple of raffle prizes, it really was his weekend.

The next "Nationals" will be down in Victoria and hopefully the track will be Phillip Island so I look forward to seeing you all again when for once I dodn't have to travel so far to get there.....

PS. Thank you to all the members who made the extra effort and got dressed up for the dinner. I think it made it just that little bit more of an occasion.

PPS. Thank you to my darling wife Jen who pitched in and helped all weekend long without complaining, she is the sexiest bunny I know.
