Try and hook up with someone that has a ZX then compare it. You may have a problem and there is another post going a the moment on this issue so maybe do a search.

my mum's 2003 commdore had slightly lighter steering than my ZX did. Check your power steering fluid first. I don't think you have anything to worry about. I've driven mine without the power steering belt on and THAT is a task and a half. I'm sure if it was that bad you'd probably be freaking right out. Also are you dry steering or is this in comparison to it driving around the street?

to be honest i don't even know where the power steering fluid is?
and the other day i was driving my cuzin hilax 1990 i think and even that is lighting then mine?
like mine is heavy but i still can drive around every where fine. i cant even use my right stronge hand to turn it? and every other car i can .

either you're weak or your power steering isn't actually working. Take it to a mechanic, that's the best advice you're going to get bud.

One possibility is that the front upper control arms may be over tightened. I know this sounds odd but there is movment in the upper control are during steering. I had this issue on my car (aftermarket).

either there's low power steering fluid or your variable power steering probably isn't working.

zed steering is meant to be light @ low speed and heavy @ high speeds.

see the below picture (ignore the red circle, it's an old pic and i had a leak here)

this solenoid is attached to your steering rack under the car. if it's dodgy then your steering is always heavy. common problem really. i have it but i like heavy steering so doesn't bother me. in fact when i replaced my steering rack i purposely left this solenoid unplugged because i wanted the heavy steering.

after i got the rack replaced in my fiances zed the steering has been heavy as hell, i wonder if this solonoid is the culprit.

HICAS solenoid fault or speed signal issue.

    Or something mechanical obv

    Try a HICAS diagnostic
