Well, after 35 years spent with 10 zeds of many models I have finally sold my last, an Aus spec pearl-white '93. This last car was probably the best I owned, and I am full of admiration for the way it handled the long haul from Hobart to Brisbane, where its new owner took delivery. I would like to thank the members of the forum for their invaluable advice and camaraderie over the years. I joined back in 2001 when I bought my first Z32, and have been active or a "lurker" ever since. I will leave it in my favorites and return occasionally, but I've reached the conclusion that because time is catching up, for one reason or another the Zed is really not that appropriate a car for me to drive any more. Of course, this is also supported by the local car thieves, who tried to get their grubby mitts on my Zed at least 4 times in the past year, in one attempt causing quite a lot of damage to our house in an effort to break in and get keys. My wife has become quite nervous about the situation (we were at home during that attack) and I hope can relax now that the Zed is gone. While I have a good degree of confidence in the local police, who have diligently investigated each attempt and in one case made an arrest, I have no confidence in the court system who will probably let this person walk with no more than a slap on the wrist. Just before I left for Brisbane I searched the forum for posts about travelling long distances by Zed. I came up with a lot of positive comments, and I would like to concur with them - Zeds are great for long distance travel. My car was a joy to drive, and used almost no "consumables" over the trip. Petrol consumption was a steady 10km/L, not great but not bad considering the amount of stuff we had loaded in the car and the often heavy traffic conditions. I hope that the Z32 will in time become a real classic, and I'm confident that owners on this forum will hold the best examples. I sold my car for good money and I hope this is part of an upward trend for owners of concours-class examples, the condition of mine being very close to that. I am sad to hear that you are leaving the fold, and I believe this forum will be poorer by you making that decision. Sad to see you go John, I remember back in '04 when I found the forum, I followed your article on relocating the S1 PTU on my trusty Ausspec. As I recall, it involved fabricating a bracket that mounted it in open space at the back of the LH headlight. Car had about 110,000 kms then, about 245,000 now .......... same PTU. Cheers, Peter

I will definitely be back to the forum on a regular basis and it will be good to read how you're all going. Lloyd, what you say is true - though Zed ownership may be over, Zed addiction lasts! (I can vouch for this over the time between 2006 and 2008 when I did not own one!)
