For sale is the ORC twin plate clutch I previously had in my zed. It was in perfect working order and not that old to my knowledge. I only replaced it as I wanted a more daily driveable organic clutch put in. :)

Item: Ogura Racing (ORC) Twin Plate Clutch & lightweight flywheel for Z32

My mechanic suggested it was in good condition with clutch plate 1 maybe 30% worn and plate 2 maybe 50% worn.

I haven't been able to locate a model number on the clutch, but having done some digging on the net it would seem likely it's the base model 559 series (550hp capable). The link below suggests they're worth AUD$2400+ new

Price: $1000 starting figure but open to offers if that seems unreasonable

Conditions: Would prefer Qld buyer but am open to interstate parties. Willing to deliver to a Brisbane buyer. Clutch kit is 16-17kg if you want a rough estimate for postage.

Pictures: (Am happy to provide additional higher res images for serious parties) :)

is it very hard and undrivable for a daily driver with 300rwkw?

I wouldn't say it is that undrivable, it just didn't suit my type of driving.
The clutch itself is quite light but it just takes a little getting used to the balance point at lights etc. You can't slip it like you would a manual A to B car for instance. Find that balance point and release it slowly in 1st gear and then you're fine. My car doesn't quite have 300rwkw (maybe 220 when boosted) but I don't think you'd have much drama if you're used to a car with that sort of power.

That said, I managed the 1 hour journey home in peak hour through the city and didn't stall it until I was pulling into my own driveway. :p

Let me know if you're keen.

the centre and outer plate have , a hell of a lot of hot spots , and can not be machined out , you would need to replace them .......

but this is a very good clutch , and its not as bad as one may think ,,
have you had a quote on a reco kit ?????????

  5. Hey mate.
Would you take 500 for it
    Cheers

Badxtc, I have not had a quote on reco kit as I never noticed any fault with the clutch. For all purposes it seemed to work perfectly fine. Should any buyer want to replace the discs it looks like $500ish judging by RHD-Japan website (the link I'm quoting is damperless discs though).

If you're not in a hurry for a new clutch then how about we leave it for another week to see if there are any other interested parties. If no other offers then I'm happy to discuss with you.

    Cheers mate

Note: 'twos better than one' has the high offer currently at $500

well its not eBay . so if you take 500$ then take it or just say no ..

as far as the kit you put up goes , its cheaper then what it would cost to replace the ones you got , and it does not come with the center or outer plate .. all up should cost about 1200 to reco it , and its not far from reco ..
the spring less clutches will make it harder to drive on the street ( it's what im running in the car now )

as soon as you put good power to this clutch it will slip..

the hot spots is what concerns me ......
just trying to justify 1000$ on a second hand clutch that's close to reco
but ill think about it ......

I'll take on board your comments badxtc. I didn't realise you may been keen on it. Just thought you were voicing your opinion on the condition.

My $1000 was just a rough figure. I'm open to negotiation. At present I'm considering the $500 offer but I do feel it is worth more than that. If someone were to offer $800 then I'd probably accept it. :)

Any new offers for the twin plate? $800 and it's yours on the spot. :)

I'm tempted to make an offer for it all just to get the flywheel.
The teeth on mine are pretty shagged.
But even though mine is also a twin plate ORC, my pressure plate is different so maybe the flywheel is too.
I've been unable to find a pic of any ORC clutch that looks like mine does which is weird.
I don't have that kind of cash right now anyway, but i'll keep it in the back of mind if you can't sell it soon.

    Best of luck anyway.

Whats the flywheel like mate? Considered splitting them? :)

I'm in no rush mate. If no other buyers come along in the meantime then I'm happy to organise with you. Are you genuinely keen?
No the car never shook when I had it installed.

I'd prefer not to split the clutch and flywheel Josh.
No problems with the flywheel to my knowledge. It has been some time since I've driven with it, but I recall it revved more freely than with a standard flywheel.

Clutch still for sale. Any interest?

The flywheel and clutch should come as one item on twin plate clutches, it costs $660 to recondition them in Brisbane, includes new clutch release bearings etc.
I would be offering ~ $400.00 for this worn clutch

    Thanks for your comments Martin.
Are you advising others on a price or are you interested yourself? :)
