Hey Guys, Well I finally picked up my infill panel took me a while lol I know there have been a few threads lately about panel beaters and body kit shops but I need to know where to take my car(in Perth) to get my infill panel installed and the stock spoiler taken off and the holes welded up or if its just easier for me to the rip the old spoiler off and do some of the prep work myself then send it to someone to do the rest? Cheers Luke.
I need to do this too. If you end up getting someone to weld it, maybe we can save a few $$$ getting it done together. I have rear infill ready to go now too.
If it's only gonna cost me like $50 to get it welded up I might do that now. Or I might wait. Meh, who am I kidding, I'm an impulse shopper
as i am a hard core man... it was easy... thus why vaughan is paying for some one else to do his its a few bolts and alot of glue to pull off... pretty easy....
me thinks that its best just to pull it off and sand and clean or the crap away and send it off to get welded and painted ... but whats the go witht he actual infill panel does it just click straight in?
I'm not paying someone to pull it off. I just want someone to weld it. I'd give them the area cleaned and good to weld. Just I've never welded before, let alone thin metal, so I'd stuff it up.
another question lol say I rip off the old spoiler and do some prep before I take it to a body shop to get welded can I put the infill panel on in the mean time and then remove it without any drama's?
yes it bolts straight in.. but ull have to cut a 4th hole.. well you dont have to... but you should.. but yeah pull off and bolt in easy
ull see theres a bolt on the ends, and 2 int he middle, then between the middle and the end 2 square clip holes, there is one on the left but not on the right... ull see when u rip it offf wait, i mean a diameter of 300mm hole top left of your bonnet
Shouldn't be too hard to see a 300mm(12") hole, now should it? What is supposed to be in that hole, the rear quarter window glass, maybe?:biggrin::biggrin:
with prep work etc., always check it out before you do it with the place your going to. from experience, i know some workshops hate it when you do the prep work for them for a couple of reasons: 1. sometimes it means they can't guarantee their work 2. if not done properly, sometimes it creates more work for them 3. in some cases, it doesn't do much of a saving. having a go at prep work yourself though is always a good idea, sometimes means you get the finished result faster as well.
