Has anyone else noticed the amount of times other cars almost hit you, whether it be driving and merging or even when your car is parked.

I've had lots of close calls and even some that have hit me claiming " I didn't see your car"
Today a truck reversed into my guard nothing major.
Few months ago another car reversed into me while filling up petrol.

Is it because they sit so low and on a slant at the front that others can't see us?

If I drive my other car (ford falcon) I never ever experience any of this.[IMG]

Yeah black ones are worse for it, plus the 300zx is a very low slung car, its easy to see over the the cabin and the bonnet, people are just not careful enough.

"People are just not careful enough" sums it up pretty well.
I'd go a step further & say "not only are they careless, they have no respect for other peoples property" & if they do cause damage, they sneak away like a mongrel dog.

Maybe black is harder to see. Spray it red and/or make it louder :p

I daily a black MX5 which is already tiny and lowered. Falcodores, SUVs and CUVs are all guaranteed to turn in front of me when merging because they actually can't see. I ain't even mad. It's actually not their fault.

If this is a hit and run rather than blind spot merge, then it's a dog act.

I was lucky with this one, they are building a house where I was parked near so it was pretty obvious who did it.
Just got the stuff around now to make a claim.

And Mike Black beats red any day :D

I have a theory on why people keep running into our cars,,,, it's because their jealous and want to get rid of all our cars so they can think their cars are the best on the road :br: :br: :br: :p

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one.
It proves I just don't have shit luck and zed's are a magnet.

Took it in for a quote. So I find out Monday how much it'll cost.

Yep - get the same in the Lotus. Gotta be careful where you place yourself on the road. If someone tries to merge on top of me I feel it's my fault for assuming they can see me...

  12. I was backed into in early January parked it the Devonport RSL.
Youngish bloke in a Coloraro ute with family bikes across the front of his tray and he didn't even see the Z.
Upside was he destroyed the horrid Veilside rear wing that was falling to bits was destroyed.
New JDM spoiler and a complete repaint only cost me $1600 over and above the insurance.

    Sometimes you win!

Well it's gonna cost 900 bucks to fix this and that's repairing the gaurd not replacing it.
