FINALLY fitted up! Drove it in to work today & nothing fell off, was a good day Just some phone photos, will try & grab some decent ones asap. Skirts have been fitted a couple weeks now, nice & easy, look great & love them. Fit is excellent as you'd expect for oem parts. Twinz nightmare is finally about wrapped up, seriously been one drama after the other with this **** thing. After huge waits, wrongly delivered, badly damaged (single piece of bubble wrap & no insurance???), lost parts & bloody cracks popping up everywhere the final drama was due to the abflug exhaust. It didn't really fit... Lots of fiddling & we're mostly there, still needs a slight adjustment but pretty happy with it now. Needed to lower the rearmost hanger mounting point by 35mm! Mirrors not fitted yet, previous owner had chopped the plug off so need to sort that out first (had forgotten...) Will be focusing on getting the wing finished now. *ffs stop editing d a m n, we're not bloody 5!
Skirts look great! Chopped off plug shouldn't be much of an issue at all, surprised it slowed you down. Not wanting to hack up your originals I guess? Recently fitted a bolt on diffuser too (to somebody else's car). Nowhere near as spot on as I was lead to believe from TwinZ parts. What did you make of the massive gap between the diffuser and the underside of the fuel tank? We affixed it up to said tank (just seemed ridiculous, considering said item is a diffuser) but it meant even greater gaps against the rear bar...
Diffuser gap didn't seem too bad but remember mines a full bar (plus possible 2+2 v 2+0 differences), do plan to bridge it but looks pretty simple. I completely agree though that it didn't fit anything like as nice as I'd expected from all their glowing reports. Beyond the huge hole needed to retain your tow hooks I found screw holes didn't line up by several mm & just the overall fit at the end isn't 100%. Panel gaps grow/shrink, sections are underflush where the oem isn't, etc. To be honest given the time & money I've spent on the thing if I did it over I wouldn't bother with it, not worth it. Plugs on the mirrors will be an easy fix but would like to grab a new pair rather than chop up my oem's, just in case. Had completely forgotten about it until I unmasked them the other day.
Looking good tim almost a 2kspec replica like mine if you went for a 2kspec spoiler. Pitty about the twinz bar, I hope the bolt on diffuser will not have the same problems when and if I eventually get one for my car. I think the diffuser really finishes off the rear end nicely but I would never go a full twinZ rear bar with diffuser as I am not surprises the aftermarket bar didn't fit properly and that's why I prefer OEM parts over aftermarket. You planning on coming to the doug memorial cruise in Nov tim?? would love to catch up and share some thoughts on your rear bar and skirt installs.

A few more projects that got sorted with the bar install. Rear strut brace installed, wanted a real tight, clean install so got a spare set of covers from Tekky & stated marking out my cuts. Test fitting both sides & brace bolted down. & done, wrapped it in leather to match the rest of the interior, also leather wrapped the blind & re-glued the edge that always comes apart If anyone in Melbourne wants the spare covers I did my work out on they're free to a good home, need a slight adjustment but basically 98% there. To suit a powertrix / uas rear brace. cheers, Tim
The trimmer at work helped Anti, definite plus to working in design studios! I measured up the pattern & cut the leather but he did the stitching, hoping to do the lot on my next project. Nothing current Erik, will have to snap some more. There's a shot earlier in the thread though which is still pretty much accurate. Cheers, Tim
Finally, update time You'll never guess what finally came out of the mold this evening, custom wing bits!!! Managed to trim 2/3's of it before the battery in my multi-tool went flat, sitting in rough (very...) place anyway. Still in 2 parts so need to trim, sand, join, etc. In other news, Abflug mirrors fitted too! Also cut & polished the zed with my new buffer. cheers, Tim
