Trying to organize a build thread so it?s easy to follow could be a major pain.

So I figure the easiest way to try to show what I am going to achieve over the next few months with this build.

    The Specs:

The car has a forged engine with ACL pistons, stock rods that are shot peened and linished. Ross underdrive pulley with NO power steering pump. Extreme lightened Alloy flywheel with 6 puck cushioned centre, one pce steel drive shaft, 4.11 leader gears in diff. Standard H pattern gear box with Tilton underslung pedal box for clutch and brake (no booster), Dual pass radiator front mounted with flow out over the bonnet, dual electric fans, Garrett GT28RS ( GT2860RS) A/R 0.62 turbos, Custom piping, full race cage of cold drawn mild steel tubing.

    The Subject:

Is a 1992 2+0 slicktop 300zx. The aim is to have an easy driving race car with 300rwkw+ at 15 PSI of boost. The Limited boost is to try to preserve the engine as much as possible as I don?t want to be rebuilding any time soon. The car will run E85 Ethanol mix to reduce any chance of detonation and advance the timing as much as possible.

This front is to be heavily modified to accommodate the upflow vent for exhausting air over the bonnet

Engine has to be pulled as it has been sitting un started for approx 3 years. There is no evidence of internal corrosion from a quick look with my borescope. However the outside needs a bit of work to bring it back to scratch.

Tomei fixed inlet cam gears to replace VTC gears and exhaust CAM gears.

    Stillen engine damper.

Side mount Intercoolers are custom made PWR units. Quite thick and should work very well. Inlet and outlet pipes are 2.5 inch

Radiator is a dual pass PWR unit which will be mounted at approx 45 degree angle to allow the air to vent over the bonnet top. There is going to be a fair bit of ducting made for this but it is the only way to guarantee the engine remains cool under prolonged boost.

Oil catch cans will collect overflow oil from the two breathers at the top front of the inlet cam covers.

Twin GT28RS AR 0.63 will be used

Ross balancer for the crank pulley

Remote oil filter up graded to a Z9 size

Oil cooling via 28 row cooler

    ECU is a MOTEC M800

    Spark amp is from AEM

Instrumentation is via AIM digital dash talking to the MOTEC via CAN bus

Clutch is Xtreme 6 puck cushioned with Alloy lightened flywheel.

Oiling is helped with 3 quart Accusump plumbed into the old oil pressure switch hole in the block

Blowoff valves are via HKS SSQ x2

Clutch and brakes are via Tilton overhung pedal box

Gear shift is by stock system with short shifter. The length of the handle will be made longer so get the shifter closer to the steering wheel.

Fuel system is HUGE to cope with E85 requirements.

AN10 piping for all fuel lines, Stock Z32 TT pump feeding a 4 litre surge tank.

    Aeromotive A1000 fuel pump

    SX fuel regulator

    10 micron SX filter

Custom top feed Injector fuel rail with Siemens 1000cc top feed injectors.

    Braking and suspension:

Suspension/ shockers are custom Proflex/MCA coil overs which fortunately where on the car when purchased. I found out later they where worth $5000-$6000

Front lower and all other suspension parts are replaced with rose jointed items.

Powertrix adjustable links with whiteline sway bars

Steering tie rods and inner links replaced with Chrome Molly items to suit the car as it is lowered.

Solid subframe bushes. I still have to source solid Diff mounts.

Braking is via 350z track Brembos with 324mm rotors and stock Z32 rear rotors and calipers using ENDLESS ME20 pads all round

Rear wing is a Cwest dual level alloy item

Seat is custom Velo carbon frame to fit my fat ass in. J One pce steel drive shaft is beside it.

I have many more parts either on the water ( front bars) or in the air so I will add to the thread as I start to assemble to parts into a whole.

A few pics of the car and cage to finish off.

I think I am going to put it standing up near the A pillar. Cut a hole through the part where the battery was and feed it through so the bottom will be near where the AIV soleniods where.

I am looking for a finshed weight of 1100kg I am going to replace much of the glass with perpex and swiss cheese a lot of the chassis. All piping in the engine bay will be Alloy.

Weight distribution on a 2+0 is less that ideal But feeding much of the heavy stuff to the left rear hopefully will balance it a bit better.

I have had this one for about 4 years. I never got around to modding it for thr road car. BUT on the track car all the crap thats in the way on the road car isnt there, so it should bolt on OK.

the main issue is the bolt holes are in the wrong position and the brake master fouls with it.

even with cruise control modul and everything else removed i still cant get it 2 fit!!

He's running an internal pedal box, won't be a booster or master in the engine bay.
