09 Nationals, quick bit of help needed

Ok my story. Yes I'm a comin'. From Tokyo. Tokyo, Japan. However it's a bit complicated.

Can people give me some advice on timing and transportation, if anyone can help out it would be great in that regard, I'm just putting this out there as actually I don't know the area that well.

While I'm in country my girlfriend will also be coming over from Japan. By chance she will be in QLD at the same time as the Nationals with one of her friends, then when the Nationals are finished (maybe Monday or Tuesday) she'll fly down to Melbourne with me and her friend will fly back to Japan. It's not yet decided if she'll be in Brisbane, Noosa or the Gold Coast (tickets will be booked soon), for each of those possibilities how hard will it be for me to get to these locations to fly back with her, either with a lift with someone, or by other means? (bus, whatever) I just don't know the area that well, where the airports are, where Warwick is in relation to everything and ease of access, and so on, so I'm not sure what's best... any ideas? Also of those 3 locations which is the best for a Japanese girl with no car to spend 5 days or so? She's asked my opinion and I have no idea.

I'm only in Australia for 3 weeks or less so driving up probably eats up more days than I'd like to spare so I'll likely fly up, maybe on the Friday (or is Thursday better?). If I fly up to Brisbane can I get a lift to Warwick with someone?

It's all come up pretty quickly and she now needs to buy tickets pretty soon, so any help people can give me would be great. Will the Easter weekend make accommodation at this point really hard to find?

 

Would have thought 5 days in Surfers would have been ideal as a holiday for a Japanese tourist Ben. You shouldnt have any issue getting flights. They are getting cheaper and cheaper.

Vic convoy....

Hi Ben, I know you said you wanted to fly to brisbane, but in case that falls through (for whatever reason), most of the Vic convoy are leaving Melb on the Tuesday morning to arrive in Warwick by mid thursday. There will be plenty of spare seats if you need a lift. Also, Mikey will be leaving a day after us (travelling with jack) and I'm sure his XR6 will have enough room in the back. As for the rest, cant really help as I'm not that familiar with queensland. What I do know is that the airports are quite a distance away from warwick (about 180km), as I had to try and organise getting Judith to an airport so she could go to her work conference after the Nationals. In the end, it was easier to drop her off in Sydney than it was to travel in the opposite direction and take her to an airport in queensland. So on the way back, Dougy and I will be driving back via Sydney.
