No, was going to get it in position with the gearbox bolted to the car and have a good think about how I want to do the mounts.

Benny, no vids until the mounts and sump are done :)

Got the engine and gearbox in today. Did it in one hit, better than trying to get the gearbox back together under the car.

Throttle cable just worked, that was easy :p

The engine comes quite close to the clutch master, had to remove the coilpack cover, will have to trim it before it goes back on. Just glad I didn't have to move it!

    Heaps of room

Room for the rad, but not the fan:p We'll see how the thermo goes on the front.

Doesn't stick out too far :D
    [IMG]

Here is my idea for the mounts, makes perfect sense in my head :p

tassuperkart Its a lie I tell you!

If its any use M8, I cut all my "plates" out of stiff cardboard, punched the holes and "bolted" them all on.

Then I set about with more cardy and a pair of scissors and cut the rest of the plates to shape and accurately fitted them stickytaped into position.

    Makes simple templates.

Nice work mate. Did you use high tensile rod for your studs? That looks like the normal stuff.

  11. Chrispy

    Chrispy Pretentious Upstart

It is normal stuff  It's in shear, she'll be right :p

  12. scooba84

    scooba84 Brassier Inspector

Not as strong in shear remember! 0.58 X tensile yield. But it will prob be ok:)

Oh yeah, my giant turbo doesn't fit anywhere useful :(

It'll fit where the batt was but no room for the cold side pipework and limited room for the wastegate. :(

Same problem where the washer bottle in a 2+2 sits :(

No chance in fitting where the air con comp was :(

Looks like a couple of smallish T3's will fit though :D

 twin turbo....sounds like a familiar idea :bash::bash::bash:should have done it in the first place lol...reckon you will get your money back on the big single mate?

Get the grinder out and make room. :D
I reckon twin would be easier to get under there though.
Get a custom plenum with twin throttles and lower mounted so you can keep it a secret under there. ;)

Maybe... but it's not as impressive. I'll probably keep the blender, chuck it on a skyline or something.

    Nah, bonnet scoop FTW!

you wanted a faster daily didnt you.....well lol :D

What about neatly cutting the right shape out of the bonnet so when its down, the plenum just sticks through. maybe even polish it ;)
I don't know what the legalities are on that but it'd look alright.
