If the race car cannot be sold to one owner, heavytrevy came up with the idea of 4 people owning and operating the AMEC race car. there would be 4 owners and each owner would pay $5000 for their share. this would be a VERY cheap way to get into motorsport for some of you guys! compare that to over $50,000 being spent on this car to get it where it is! you only need to spend $5000 to own 400KW! (and the rest) there are heaps of track days each year at QR that the car can be entered into to give each owner their fair share of driving. to run a track day costs around $180 entry fees and petrol plus $50 a year for your QR drivers license. race car pics and info here: www.amecautocare.com.au/toc.htm

I think this is a damn good idea, really wish i could buy into a piece of this. owners could take it in turns racing it or taking it for test runs etc.
Assuming motorsport up there is anything like what it is down here (and to be honest it seems that way, if not even better) this is a great deal for a few reasons as well as just the obvious chance to drive a really nice car for a tiny cost. Most of the events here allow 2 drivers to share a car by putting them in different groups, that means for the same money you are driving in every second event rather than every fourth. Also, if you keep an eye on a few different clubs who run regular events you could have the car out pretty much every weekend if you really wanted to. With that in mind while you may only be buying a quarter of the car, there is no reason not to get the same time on the track you would if you bought it outright. (Again, as a small disclaimer, that is assuming motorsport there is similar to down here.) On top of this, motorsport is a lot more fun shared, the track days I have been to with friends coming along (to participate or watch) have been much more fun than the ones I have been to by myself, though even those were great.
Most likely... if theres things to do to the silver bullet then yes its split... if anyone wants to upgrade anything then its all discussed etc.... basically you get the responsibility and the enjoyment of driving this special zed.... i think its a great idea considering there are members who are thinking of trying out the idea of a track car... this is a great opportunity as the car would already be there....
I would love to be in on this, but I simply won't have the time to get in it. Plus I'm getting a few new rifles and thinking about a GSXR, so the mrs wouldn't be happy either This is a great idea, I think anyone in on this will have heaps of fun for almost no outlay.
Good point. Suggested answers:- a. You've lost $5k, NOT $20k. b. Part-share owner responsible pays for repairs, if possible to repair. c. Other owners share proceeds from sale of wreck.
What happens if/when one owner puts it into a wall? that simple.... the other 3 can take turns at 2 holding him down while the 3rd turkey slaps him. Sounds like a great idea, and a cheap introduction into racing.
